Blog Tour- BONESEEKER by Brynn Chapman and a Giveaway!!!

I get to kick off the BONESEEKER Tour today and I am stoked! I loved Brynn's story about Sherlock Holmes's daughter, Arabella and Watson's son, Henry! I asked her some questions about the setting and the secret society in the novel so check that out and make sure to enter the awesome giveaway below!

Haven't heard of BONESEEKER? Check it out!

Title: BONESEEKER
Publication date: June 17, 2014
Publisher: Month9Books, LLC.
Author: Brynn Chapman
Find it: GoodreadsAmazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo | Chapters Indigo!
Arabella Holmes was born different and raised different. After it became apparent she wouldn’t fit the role of a proper 1900s lady, her father, Sherlock, called in some lingering favors, and landed her a position at the Mutter Museum. The museum was Arabella’s dream; she was to become a purveyor of abnormal science. What her father called a BoneSeeker.

Henry Watson arrives at the Mutter Museum with a double assignment–to become a finder of abnormal antiquities and to watch over and keep Arabella Holmes. An easy task, if he could only get her to speak to him instead of throwing knives in his general direction.

But this is no time for child’s play. The two teens are assigned to a most secret exploration, when the hand of a Nephilim is unearthed in upstate New York. Soon, Arabella and Henry are caught in a fight for their lives as scientific debate swirls around them. Are the bones from a Neanderthal … or are they living proof of fallen angels, who supposedly mated with humans according to ancient scrolls?

Sent to recover the skeleton, they discover they are the second team to have been deployed and the entire first team is dead. And now they must trust their instincts and rely on one another in order to survive and uncover the truth.

Now on to the guest post/interview! (There'a a link for The Mutter check it out it's pretty cool)

Why use The Mutter Museum as part of the story?

The Mutter seemed the perfect place for Arabella. Where would Holmes put her?
Her level of genius was such that she had to stay occupied. She did not wish to marry, become a mother…and science. She was obsessed with science?

What would’ve been his options in early 1900? The Mutter, that is where.
She could indulge in her atypical obsessions with little interaction with society outside of her scientific colleagues.

Why write about Sherlock Holmes' daughter and what was your inspiration?

Sherlock Holmes was human, and therefore had feelings, no matter how little we ever see of them in the Holmes canon. Society tolerated him because of his genius. I wondered would they be so tolerant of a woman in that time period?

The story is about finding Nephilim bones will we see any Nephilim in the books?

Nope. Just their possible remains.

What about L'uomo Delinquente? Was it a real secret society and if not how hard was it to figure out all the details?

Yes, L’uomo Deliquente the concept, was real. As for a secret society—nope.

My spin on it, total fabrication. Here is an example, and I included the link for the full article.

Lombroso was influenced by French positivism, German materialism, and English evolutionism. In particular, he was influenced by Auguste Comte; Charles Darwin; Bénédict Morel, the French alienist who developed a theory of degeneracy; Bartolomeo Panizza, the Pavian comparative anatomist; Carl Rokitanski, the Viennese pathologist; and Enrico Ferri, his principal younger colleague, who suggested to him the term “the born criminal.”

Although Lombroso was aware of the importance of social and psychological factors in the causation of crime, his primary emphasis was on the concept of the atavistic criminal. He believed the atavistic criminal to be a biological throwback to an earlier stage of evolution, since inborn delinquency was not natural to contemporary mankind but peculiar to primitive races. The atavistic criminal could be identified by various anatomical, physiological, and psychic stigmata, different kinds of inborn delinquency being identifiable by different patterns of stigmata.

Lombroso later modified his ideas about criminal typology. Because in the first edition of L’uomo delinquentehe had focused his attention so exclusively on such anatomical and anthropometric data as skull measurements and facial asymmetries, he had been led to an excessive emphasis on one type of criminal and one theory of criminal causation, atavistic criminality. In later editions he expanded his investigations and consequently his theory, adding degeneracy as a cause of criminality and considering atavism to be a form of degeneracy. Although his theoretical linking of atavism and degeneracy was challenged by biologists, it did widen his original narrow concept of the born criminal, which had been the primary point of attack of his critics. Lombroso’s investigations also revealed that the born criminal had pathological symptoms in common with the moral imbecile and the epileptic, and this led him to expand his typology to include the insane criminal and the epileptic criminal. The insane criminal type includes the alcoholic, the mattoid, and the hysterical criminal. Further additions to the typology include the criminaloid—a criminal qualitatively similar to the born criminal but differing quantitatively from him —who had become a criminal more from precipitating external factors than from predisposing internal ones; the pseudocriminal; the habitual criminal; and the person who commits a crime of passion.

Although Lombroso did not believe that all criminal behavior is of organic origin, there is no doubt that he never completely relinquished his belief in the existence of the born criminal type. However, in the fifth and last edition of L’uomo delinquente in 1896–1897 reduced his estimate of the proportion of this type to 40 per cent of the total criminal population, and in his introduction to his daughter Gina’s summary of his work,Criminal Man (1911), he reduced it still further. In response to suggestions by friends and attacks by critics he also came to give more attention to factors in the physical and social environment of the offender. For example, in Crime: Its Causes and Remedies (1899) he not only revised the estimate of the born criminal to 33 percent of the criminal population but also discussed social circumstances which might be partially responsible for encouraging a variety of transmissible biological anomalies that in turn would function within and affect the social structure.

Thanks so much Brynn for stopping by! I can't wait for book 2!

Blog Tour- SWEET RECKONING Blake Interviews Kai and a Giveaway!

I adore Wendy Higgins and her books so I always jump at the chance to have her on the blog and do I have a treat for you today! I have my two favorite guys Kaidan and Blake here to answer some burning questions! Check it out and make sure to enter the awesome giveaway below!

Haven't heard of SWEET RECKONING? Check it out!

Title: SWEET RECKONING
Author: Wendy Higgins
Publisher: Harper Teen
Pages: 400
Pub. Date: April 29, 2014
It’s time.

Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

Now on to the interview!

Blake, son of the Duke of Envy, interviewing Kaidan, son of the Duke of Lust:

Blake: *rubs hands together* Aw, yeah. This is gonna be good. I’ve got some questions here that’ll make you blush, brah.

Kaidan: *eyes him skeptically* When have you known me to blush? Ever.

Blake: That was then. You’re outta your game now that you’re all lovey-dovey and romantic with Anna and shiz.

Kaidan: We’ll see. *kicks his feet up with a grin and twines fingers behind his head* What’ve you got, then? Make it good.

Blake: *clears throat and flaps paper importantly* First state your full name.

Kaidan: *blanches and frowns*

Blake: Hahahaha! *points to Kai’s face* You are totally blushing! I win!

Kaidan: I thought you’d be asking sex questions. This interview sucks.

Blake: *grins*  Answer the question, man.

Kaidan: Fine… *through clenched teeth*  Kaidan Demetrius Rowe

Blake: *falls back and slaps his leg*  Demetrius!  Hahaha!

Kaidan: Shut it.

Blake: How demonic. Your pop sure has a sense of humor.

Kaidan: Next question, git.

Blake: Alright, alright, grumpy. Okay, let’s start easy. I hear people pronounce your name like “Kayden” all the time, and they spell it with an “e” instead of an “a” when they write it out. Tell me…how does that make you feel when people get your name wrong?

Kaidan: *shrugs* I honestly couldn’t care less. Sometimes I try to help out, offering some rhyming words—it’s Kai like Thai, Chai, Fry, Pie—

Blake: I can’t help but notice you give all edible examples.

Kaidan: Exactly. *winks* And don’t worry, mate—by the time they’re naked they’re pronouncing it correctly. Over and over.

*both guys fist bump*

Blake: Dude, you know Anna’s gonna read this, right?

Kaidan: Er, yeah, you know what? Perhaps we can just delete that last answer.

Blake: No can do, lover boy. Haha. And quit giving me the stink-eye. Anna knows you don’t work anymore. You’re all good now.

Kaidan: Yeah, that’s me. Good, good, good.

Blake: But if she could’ve seen you in action back in the day…

Kaidan: Okay, enough.

Blake: Do you miss it?

Kaidan: Hell, no.

Blake: What’s your favorite position?

Kaidan: That’s like asking a book nerd to pick their favorite book. Impossible. Too many excellent ones.

Blake: Damn. Thought I could take you by surprise with that question, but you didn’t even flinch.

Kaidan: Nice try.

Blake: Alright then. How about your favorite body part? I mean, I already know this. Everyone who knows you knows the answer to this, but we need it on record. All official and whatnot.

Kaidan: It’s the arse, all the way.

Blake: Yup. Knew it. Seen the way you zone in on a nice butt like a fighter pilot about to release his rocket at a target.

*another fist bump*

Blake: I’m a boob guy myself.

Kaidan: Yes, I know. You’re a bit obvious, but instead of zoning in for business like I do, you turn into an idiot with a goofy-arse grin.

Blake: I can’t help it… Boobies! *tongue hangs out*

Kaidan: Tits are brilliant, but they come in third behind thighs for me. Wait, can I say tits? Who’s reading this interview?

Blake: Eh, I think you’re okay. Sorry, everyone who’s offended by Kai’s potty mouth. Maybe we should chill out on the boobs and butt talk.

Kaidan: Damn. Okay, then, carry on. Next question.

Blake: I don’t know. I had other questions, but now all I can think about are boobs and butts.

Kaidan: You’re so inappropriate, Blake. I’m not certain how we stay friends.

Blake: I know, right? *twists eyebrow bar in thought* Hey, you wanna hit the waves?

Kaidan: You are so ADD. And yes. Let’s go.

Blake: Sweet. I love you, man.

Kaidan: You don’t love me. You just love my Kaidan Style.

Blake: Alright, Snoop-Kai. Thanks for the interview. Can I get a hug?

Kaidan: Only if you promise to cop a feel.

Blake: *laughs*  Dude. No one’s ever going to trust us to do an interview together again.

Kaidan: True. We can safely consider this our first and last. It’s been fun. Now, let’s surf.

Thanks for stopping by guys, that was enlightening and funny!!! And I can’t wait for everyone to read SWEET RECKONING! Ooh and have fun surfing!!!

Blog Tour- Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins and a Giveaway!

Hey y’all! Ok I am super excited for today’s post! First of all I adore Wendy Higgins and her books! I was so crazy about Sweet Evil I made everyone I knew read it! I was stoked when we got the opportunity to host the blog tour for Sweet Peril this book rocked as much as book 1 and had some seriously steamy scenes!!!!

Ok so here’s my post it’s a music post with videos!

Anna, what are your three favorite songs?

“Young Volcanoes” by Fall Out Boy - I love the line about the foxes hunting the hounds because that’s my life right now, trying to get the Nephilim to rise up and fight the Dukes. It’s a turn of the table, but we’re like Young Volcanoes. We’re wild, and when it comes down to it, we plan to explode.

“Your Hands” by JJ Heller - This song is so sweet and the singer’s voice is beautiful. It reminds me of the day I stood at the ledge of LookOut Point and raised my hands to the sky. My favorite lines are “When my world is shaking, Heaven stands. When my heart is breaking, I never leave Your hands.”

“I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift - I mean, come on guys! This is SO Kaidan, Rowe, right? Sometimes when I hear this song I think back to our early days and I get those crazy, wild butterflies again. He was, and is, trouble. And I knew it, but I still fell hard.

Kaidan, what three songs do you use to decompress?

“Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons, “Sail” by Awolnation, and “Madness” by Muse. Bloody brilliant, those ones. The key is volume: the rattle-your-ears kind of high volume with loads of bass. If you’ve had a shit day, give it a go, luvs. You can thank me later. *winks* Jaime just has to add that these are some of her favorite songs right now! Kaidan has awesome taste!

And someone tweeted Kaidan this song and it's SO perfect!!! Se we thought we should add it! Jaime loves this band too!

About SWEET PERIL

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Prophecy Girl

Cecily White

Release Date: April 2, 2013

Publisher: Entangeld Teen

Amelie Bennett. . . . Ending the world, one prophecy at a time.

I was born to slay Crossworld demons.

Big black flappy ones, little green squirmy ones. Unfortunately, the only thing getting slain these days is my social life. With my high school under attack, combat classes intensifying, and Academy instructors dropping right and left, I can barely get my homework done, let alone score a bondmate before prom.

Then he shows up.

Jackson Smith-Hailey. Unspeakably hot, hopelessly unattainable, and dangerous in all the right ways. Sure, he’s my trainer. And okay, maybe he hates me. Doesn’t mean I’ll ignore the wicked Guardian chemistry between us. It’s crazy! Every time I’m with him, my powers explode. Awesome, right?

Wrong.

Now my teachers think I’m the murderous Graymason destined to bring down our whole race of angelbloods. Everyone in New Orleans is hunting me. The people I trusted want me dead. Jack and I have five days to solve the murders, prevent a vampire uprising, and thwart the pesky prophecy foretelling his death by my hand. Shouldn’t be too difficult.

Getting it done without falling in love. . . that might take a miracle.

Now on to the Prophecy Girl Playlist!

*And of course Jaime will post YouTube videos for her favorites and there are quite a few lol!*
