Your strength in heart and hand will fall. . . .
Ellie knows that the darkest moments are still to come, and she has everything to fight for:

She must fight for Will.
The demonic have resorted to their cruelest weapons to put Will in mortal danger, and Ellie makes an unlikely alliance to save him and to stop Lilith and Sammael, who seek to drown the world in blood and tear a hole into Heaven.

She must fight for humanity.
As the armies of Hell rise and gather for the looming End of Days, Ellie and her band of allies travel to the world’s darkest and most ancient regions in her quest to come into her full glory as the archangel Gabriel.

And Ellie must save herself.
Her humanity withers beneath the weight of her cold archangel power, but Ellie must hold tight to who she is and who she loves as she prepares for the ultimate battle for Heaven and Earth.

In this final installment in the Angelfire trilogy, Courtney Allison Moulton brings her dark world of epic battles and blistering romance to a blazing bright conclusion.

So before I start my review I want to get a little bit sentimental. Angelfire was the first book I ever reviewed on this blog! If you want to see how much I loved that book check out my review here and mind you it was my first so my style has changed quite a bit since then. And then I reviewed Wings of the Wicked right around the time of my one year blogaversary which I loved as well and you can check out that one here. So it only seems fitting that as my two year blogaversary is coming up that this be one of the reviews to close my year out! And Courtney ended this series with a bang!

Ok so on to my review. Shadows was everything I hoped for and more!!!!! Not only because it finally had a lot of Cadan (that helped lol) but because it was an amazing and fitting end to this story! I really don’t know what to say except go get this book when it comes out; and be ready to cry and scream and want to throw things because Courtney brings the heat in this book! Who will survive? Will there be a happy ending? That I can’t tell you but I can say there are a few holy shit moments oh and we finally get to meet someone important from Will’s past! And yes Will fans he is definitely in this book too! Oh and one of the scenes that made me cry the most wasn’t even a Will/Ellie or Cadan/Ellie scene! It was a scene between Kate and Marcus it was possibly the sweetest thing I’ve read in a long time and I’d love to see a story from their POV (hint, hint Courtney!)

Ok enough of the ramble fest go get this book when it comes out!!!!!!!!!!! And check out this scene between Ellie and Cadan J

“I’m not him,” he said as the air rushed from his lungs in an awful, defeated sigh. “I’ll never be good enough, will I?”

“That’s not what it’s about,” I assured him. “I can’t explain what it’s like between Will and me. If things were different…”

“If I were angelic, you mean.”

“No. It’s not about what you are either. That doesn’t mean anything. It’s who you are that I care about and what makes you my friend.” I touched his jaw, which didn’t look so red anymore. “And if you were anything but what you are, like if you were human, then I’d be making a run to the ice machine to get you something for this shiner I just gave you.”

He gave a little smile and I released his face. I walked to my bed, pulled back the blanket, settled into the firm mattress.

Cadan was slower to reach his own bed. He sat down on the edge and leaned forward. He ran a hand through his hair and exhaled. “I’m sorry Ellie. I really am”

“It’s all right,” I said, peeking up at him from my pillow. “Get some rest. We both need some.”

“You’ve got a better heart than me.”

“You’ve got a heart and soul of gold.” I told him. “You just haven’t quite figured out how to tap into all of it yet. I have faith in you, Cadan. I believe in you. Once you can believe in yourself, that you really can do good, you’ll see a huge difference in yourself.”

“Thank you, Ell.”

“Now sleep,” I said firmly. “Don’t make me slap you again.”

Jaime's Review of Wings of the Wicked by Courtney Allison Moulton

From Goodreads.
Life as the Preliator is harder than Ellie ever imagined.
Balancing real life with the responsibility of being Heaven’s warrior is a challenge for Ellie. Her relationship with Will has become all business, though they both long for each other. And now that the secret of who she really is has come out, so have Hell’s strongest reapers. Grown bold and more vicious, the demonic threaten her in the light of day and stalk her in the night.

She’s been warned.
Cadan, a demonic reaper, comes to her with information about Bastian’s new plan to destroy Ellie’s soul and use an ancient relic to wake all the souls of the damned and unleash them upon humanity. As she fights to stay ahead of Bastian’s schemes, the revelations about those closest to her awaken a dark power within Ellie that threatens to destroy everything—including herself.

She’ll be betrayed.
Treachery comes even from those whom she loves, and Ellie is broken by the deaths of those who stood beside her in this Heavenly war. Still, she must find a way to save the world, herself, and her love for Will. If she fails, there will be hell to pay.

Jaime’s review….

My very first review on our blog was Angelfire last year so it somehow seems fitting that really close to our1 year blogaversary that I review the sequel in the series! I look back on that review with fond memories it wasn’t the best review I’ve ever written but hey I was just starting out if you want to read it I’ll post a link after my Wings of The Wicked review. On to the review.

Wings of The Wicked is a crazy ride! Ellie is coming in to more of her gifts (or powers) and along with that her memories are also returning she now knows more than ever why it is that her and Will belong together. That being said it isn’t easy and Will pushes her away even though it tortures him, she’s an archangel after all he thinks he can’t be with her. The funny part is I wrote in my first review that there wasn’t a love triangle well I’d still say it’s not but, there is another character that is sure as hell trying to make it one and for that I love him. Cadan has easily become my favorite boy in the series not that I don’t like Will but he seems too stiff for my tastes. Cadan is funny, passionate, and doesn’t put up with crap from anyone including Ellie.

The story continues with so much action that you’re sitting on the edge of your seat as soon as you open the book! Bastian is back along with some horrifying reapers and some very big surprises. I’m pretty sure I said “Oh Crap” a few times and also cried. Answers will be answered but more questions arise. Some pretty terrible stuff happens in this book and the ending will leave you shaking your fist at Miss Moulton because it’s one hell of a cliffhanger! This is a must buy if you loved Angelfire and if you haven’t read it buy them both!!!

I decide to use a scene from the book this time. It’s not spoilery since I mentioned Cadan above ;) I absolutely loved this part!

“I never thought you’d be like this.”

“Like what?”

“I heard stories of you,” he said, “Of your violence and ruthlessness. But you’re just a girl-a very beautiful, vulnerable girl.”

Being called beautiful was one thing, but I couldn’t afford to be weak. “Thanks, but I’m not vulnerable.”

“You are,” he insisted softly. “And I think it may be part of the reason why I’m so drawn to you. I am utterly enthralled. You’re innocent, so unlike the beast you’re said to be. Ellie, you have this softness about you that I could never dream of damaging. It would be like stomping on a flower. What would be the point?”

That’s one of his sweeter moments but there’s plenty of the smart sarcastic Cadan we know and love in there too!

Wings of The Wicked  comes out on February 1st so make sure to pick up your copy. Pre-order at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or the Book Depository.

My first review!!! Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton

When seventeen-year-old Ellie starts seeing reapers - monstrous creatures who devour humans and send their souls to Hell - she finds herself on the front lines of a supernatural war between archangels and the Fallen and faced with the possible destruction of her soul.
A mysterious boy named Will reveals she is the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, the only one capable of wielding swords of angelfire to fight the reapers, and he is an immortal sworn to protect her in battle. Now that Ellie's powers have been awakened, a powerful reaper called Bastian has come forward to challenge her. He has employed a fierce assassin to eliminate her - an assassin who has already killed her once.
While balancing her dwindling social life and reaper-hunting duties, she and Will discover Bastian is searching for a dormant creature believed to be a true soul reaper. Bastian plans to use this weapon to ignite the End of Days and to destroy Ellie's soul, ending her rebirth cycle forever. Now, she must face an army of Bastian's most frightening reapers, prevent the soul reaper from consuming her soul, and uncover the secrets of her past lives - including truths that may be too frightening to remember.

   Jaime's review...

First I loved this book!! It was a little slow going in the begining but as the book progressed I could not stop reading. Courtney has created a world where reapers are beasts like bears and wolves and they eat people to send them to the underworld. There are also reapers that come in human for called Vir I would say more but I don't want to spoil the book.
The Characters of Ellie and Will are so strongly written. Ellie is a badass and Will fights right along with her. One thing I can say about this book was I was very happy there was no love triangle. There was another boy but Ellie's focus was always on Will. I found that refreshing since most books nowadays have a love triangle. The supporting characters were all very well written I loved Ellie's best friend Kate she was so supportive and caring even when Ellie's parents thought she was crazy. I would like to find out more about some of the other characters hopefully in the next book.
I was very lucky to recieve a copy of Angelfire from netgalley thank you so much! I can't wait to read Wings of the Wicked which comes out in 2012. Thank you Courtney for creating such a cool world.

Jaime's review of  Angelfire- 5 out of 5 stars
