If you follow me on twitter or Instagram, you probably already know that I’m obsessed with food. My author bio mentions pizza and cookies. I look forward to book club meetings because I get cake or a pastry every time. And THE CROWN’S GAME is filled with Russian food, both real and fantastical.

Of course, fantasy novels have a long and brilliant history of food. So on that note, I thought I’d list some of my favorites that I wish I could try:

Ok so the food in this book didn't sound too appetizing so I got to thinking of recipes that would make life easier in a dreary palace like Venda! These are all recipes from my food Pinterest board. Click on the pictures to add to your pinterest boards and to see the recipes!


An cold winter nights I love a good chicken soup and this would definitely be a comfort for someone trapped in an enemy palace.

I love something filling and warm and and these two recipes definitely fit the bill!

Also I would definitely like some sweet stuff!

And here's some warm drinks. They have a tea in Venda but from what I've heard it's disgusting so I would rather drink these!

Had to add Butterbeer since it's yummy!

I hope you liked the recipes! Trust me that pot roast is amazing served with mashed potatoes and gravy!
