Blog Tour- RENEGADES by Marissa Meyer My Superhero Costume

Hey everyone! I am thrilled to be hosting a spot on the blog tour for RENEGADES by Marissa Meyer! I adore Marissa and her books!

I'm on Team Renegade and I'm going to show you what I would wear if I were a hero today!

Haven't heard of RENEGADES? Check it out!

Title: RENEGADES
Author: Marissa Meyer
Pub. Date: November 7, 2017
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Pages: 576
Formats: Hardcover, eBook, audiobook
Find it: AmazonAudibleB&NiBooksTBDGoodreads
From #1 New York Times-bestselling author Marissa Meyer, comes a high-stakes world of adventure, passion, danger, and betrayal.

Secret Identities.
Extraordinary Powers.
She wants vengeance. He wants justice.

The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies—humans with extraordinary abilities—who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone...except the villains they once overthrew.

Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice—and in Nova. But Nova's allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

Now on to my costume!

I was going to search through Pinterest for my inspiration but then I remembered Marvel has a great set of sketches! This is my ideal costume based off of Spiderwoman’s new look!

Of course I'd remove the spider on the front but I love that this costume goes from normal looking to badass with just a zipper!

About Marissa:
MARISSA MEYER is the #1 New York Times–bestselling author of The Lunar Chronicles series, as well as the graphic novel Wires and Nerve: Vol. 1, and The Lunar Chronicles Coloring Book. Her first stand alone novel, Heartless, was also a #1 New York Times bestseller. She lives in Tacoma, Washington, with her husband and their two daughters.

Top Ten Tuesday (79)- Top Ten Favorite Books Coming out this Fall 2016

Hi thanks for stopping by!!! And welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

August 30: Back To School Freebie -- anything "back to school" related like 10 favorite books I read in school, books I think should be required reading, Required Reading For All Fantasy Fans, required reading for every college freshman, Books to Pair With Classics or Books To Complement A History Lesson, books that would be on my classroom shelf if I were a teacher

I'm not a teacher and I don't think schools should dictate what kids read (ugh I hated required reading and would have read more if I would have been able to read what I wanted) so I'm just going to post a list of my Top Ten Favorite Books Coming out this Fall 2016!

I'll post the covers and link to goodreads.

1.

2.

4.

5.

6.

Top Ten Tuesday (42)- Top 10 Books on my Fall TBR

Hi thanks for stopping by!!! And welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

September 22: Top Ten Books On My Fall TBR

I'm a total mood reader so this will probably change and there is no order to this list I'm just paging through mt TBR on Goodreads. Plus most of these books aren't all fall books but some winter and 2016 books as well.

1. WINTER by Marissa Meyer. I will be reading this one as soon as I get it.
2. SPINNING STARLIGHT by R.C. Lewis. I loved her first book!
3. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN by Renee Collins. This one has been on my TBR for a while.
4. THEIR FRACTURED LIGHT by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. I DNF'd book 2 but I loved book 1 so I will give this one a go since all the characters are supposed to be in it. I missed Tarver in book 2.
5. FROZEN TIDES by Morgan Rhodes. This one will be a DEAR so soon as it arrives!
6. ENDURE by Sara B. Larson. I can't wait to see how this series ends!
7. THE SHADOW QUEEN by C.J. Redwine. This will be in my possession soon and I can't wait to read it. I love C.J.s books!
8. BLUESCREEN by Dan Wells. This one is sitting on my book shelf saying "read me"
9. BURNING GLASS by Kathryn Purdie. This one is coming my way soon too. Can't wait for it!
10. THE GREAT HUNT by Wendy Higgins. Same as 7 & 9 and I can't wait for this one either!

So what about you? What series haven't you finished? And come back next week for my Ten Books To Read If You Like This Super Popular Book/Author (I'll probably go with Maria V. Snyder for 2 reasons I adore her books and it's POISON STUDY'S 10 year anniversary!)

Top Ten Tuesday (36)- My Ten Favorite Fairy Tale Retellings (so far)

Hi thanks for stopping by!!! And welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

August 4: Ten Fairytale Retellings I've Read/Want To Read (or you could do fairytales I want to be retold or fairytales I love)

This one super easy for me fairy tale retellings is one of my favorite genres! Its going to be hard to keep it to just 10 LOL

1. The Beau Rivage Series by Sarah Cross. She takes them all and puts them in one place! Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Beauty and The Beast, Bluebeard, 12 Dancing Princesses, The Little Mermaid, and more! The publisher who published the first 2, EgmontUSA closed but I'm really hoping the rest of the series gets picked up by someone else.
2. The Tales of Beauty and Madness series by Lili St. Crow. Each book features a different retelling the first is Snow White, book 2 is Cinderella, and book 3 is Little Red Riding Hood all set in a supernatural world with magic, vampires, and supernatural mafia. Love this series!
3. The Wrath & The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh. There's a few in here but it's mostly A Thousand and One Nights and Bluebeard.
4. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I don't think these need explaining by now we've all fallen in love with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, and we're impatiently waiting for Winter!
5. Stitching Snow. A sci-fi version of Snow White complete with space travel and robots! I love this one!
6. Mechanica by Betsy Cornwell. It's a steampunk Cinderella retelling and the herione is badass!
7. A Court of Thorns And Roses. By Sarah J. Maas. Another Beauty and the Beast-ish retelling.
8. Winterspell by Claire Legrand. It's a Nutcracker retelling and I am obsessed with this book! It's dark and sexy and magical!
9. Crown of Ice by Vicki L. Weavil. A beautiful Snow Queen retelling!
10. The Artisans by Julie Reece. Beauty and The Beast done Southern Gothic style.

So this is my list. What about you? What were the last books you received or bought?

And come back next week for my Top Ten Authors I've Read The Most Books From!

Jaime

Top Ten Tuesday (6)- Top Ten Sequels I Can't Wait To Get

Hi and welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post! Looks like I'll be sticking with this one for a while since I enjoy this meme!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

November 18: Top Ten Sequels I Can't Wait To Get

This one I thought would be easy there's a ton of characters I love right? But when I got to thinking about it I'm not sure how many would be great in their own book but here's my 10.

1. SHADOW STUDY by Maria V. Snyder. Yes she's the top of my list again! But I can't wait to read more about Yelena, Valek, Ari, Janco and the rest of the crew!

2. THE HEART OF BETRAYAL by Mary E. Pearson. After the ending of KISS OF DECEPTION I would sell a kidney to get this one! I need more Rafe!

3. DEAD OF WINTER by Kresley Cole. Evie must pick Death in the finale!

4. INVADED by Melissa Landers. I can't wait to see what Aelyx's home planet is like.

5. SHADOW SCALE by Rachel Hartman. Probably my favorite book about dragons ever and I can't wait for the continuation.

6. END OF DAYS by Susan Ee. I didn't think I'd like this series that much since I'm not a big fan of angel books. But it's an intense series and I love that it's set around where I live.

7. THRONE OF GLASS #4 by Sarah J. Maas. Need I say more? I need more Chaol! Ooh and Rowan!

8. WINTER by Marissa Meyer. Yes I know FAIREST comes out first but I don't see that as a continuation of the series. It's more like a spin-off.

9. PERSUASION by Martina Boone. I love Martina's writing and can't wait to see whats in store for Barrie and Eight.

10. SNOW LIKE ASHES #2 by Sara Raasch. It's time to see what Winter is like and I hope there more Theron!

So this is my list. What about you? What sequels are you dying to get your hands on?

And come back next week for the Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR!

Hugs,
Jaime

Ok I’m being a big time cheater here! I’ve read most of these books already but I needed to share how awesome they are on and there’s not a top 10 it’s a top 15! I’ll put READ next to the ones I’ve read lol.

1. Independent Study and Graduation Day by Joelle Charbonneau READ. Freaking fantastic books!!!!! The ending of the series was perfection!!!!!!!!!!

2. Her Dark Curiosity by Megan Shepherd READ. This is definitely going to make my best of 2013 list. Megan’s storytelling is amazing and I’m already dying to get my hands on book 3!

3. Landry Park by Bethany Hagen READ Yep and it was awesome!!!! Loved David, Jude and Ewen! Yep this one is chock full of hawt boys!

4. Defy by Sara B Larson READ. I love me some high fantasy and this will definitely make my favorites of 2014 lists! I fell hard for Damien *swoons*

5. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge READ An amazing retelling of Beauty and the Beast I can’t wait for you all to read this one!

6. Cress by Marissa Meyer READ. This behemoth was fantastic! We get tons of Thorne!!!

7. Alienated by Melissa Landers READ. I have a new book boyfriend and he’s an alien named Aelyx! Trust me you’re going to want to meet this guy!

8. Infinite by Jodi Meadows.READ. The perfect ending to one of my favorite series!

9. All that Glows by Ryan Graudin READ. I’m a sucker for a good Fae book and this one was right up my alley!

10. Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo NEED MOAR OF THIS WORLD!!!!!! And Strumhond J

11. Sisters' Fate by Jessica Spotswood. Star Cursed kicked my ass and I need the final installment in this series like yesterday!

12. Strange and Ever After by Susan Dennard. Another book I need like yesterday! I have to see how this one ends!

13. Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead. If you’ve read The Fiery Heart you know why I need this one so bad. If not go read it now! Richelle likes to kill us slowly with her cliffie endings!!!!!

14. This Shattered World by Meagan Spooner and Amie Kaufman. I LOVED These Broken Stars and can’t wait for the next book in this series. It’s a companion novel but I know it’s going to ROCK!

NO COVER YET.

15. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. I'll admit I'm both excited and scared as hell to read this one. I am Team Warner and I have a bad feeling about him in this. I will freely admit that I will throw this book if something happens to him. If this one ends like the Delirium series, the Divergent series, and the Hunger Games Series did I will be very upset.

Fierce Reads Tour 2013- Interview and a Giveaway!

Hey y’all! I was super excited to be chosen as the Fierce Reads blogger for the event at A Great Good Place For Books in Oakland, CA on Sunday, September 29th! I had books to get signed for a giveaway and my interview questions all set to go and then the unthinkable happened… I got sick.

I was freaking out for a few reasons; one I didn’t want to leave the authors and the bookstore hanging and two I didn’t want to leave you, my lovely readers hanging either. Then I found out that one of my best friends Nancy from Tales of a Ravenous Reader was going to go and she offered to ask the authors my questions! I was so happy that she’d do this for me so I have the interview (it was recorded so I think I got all of their responses) and the books to give away. They’re not signed but I have Hardcovers of Tumble & Fall, Scarlet, This Song Will Save Your Life, and The Fallout and paperbacks of Cinder and The Compound for you (US Only) so make sure to enter below!

Onto the Interview!

Alexandra Coutts Tumble & Fall

Two Chicks-Now that you’re finished writing Tumble & Fall. What are you currently working on?

I’m working on a couple things but they’re in the early stages. 1 takes place where Tumble and Fall and Wishful Thinking and I’m excited about that.

Two Chicks- What was so appealing about writing an end of the world story?

I chose to do it because it forced me to distill the relationships and the issues the characters were going through. It was a way to up the stakes of everyone’s problems. I liked that I knew that yes, the world ends (not a spoiler) even though the characters were getting happy endings.

Two Chicks- Who has been your favorite character to write?

Gretchen from Tumble and Fall I loved writing this secondary character.

Two Chicks- What made you want to write about a female DJ? Any real life experience there?

There aren’t enough female DJ’s in Leila’s opinion it’s a very male dominated job and I thinks that needs to change. No I have no personal experience DJ’ing but I have known a
lot of DJ’s.

BTW she loves Pitch Perfect :D

S.A. Bodeen The Compound and The Fallout

Two Chicks- Where did you get the idea for The Compound and The Fallout?

I grew up in the 70’s with tornado drills, nuclear attack drills, etc. and I was intrigued with movies talking about nuclear fallout and what happens after.

Two Chicks- Any hints for what we can expect in Fallout?

It starts about after 3 weeks Compound ends. They start dealing with the Fallout of everything (double meaning) you all just have to read it.

Two Chicks- Who has been your favorite character to write?

Terese I like her because she’s a fun side character.

Marissa Meyer Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress out in 2014 and Winter out in 2015

Two Chicks- So what can we expect in Cress? Is there a love connection for Thorne finally? :D

It's a Rapunzel retelling so expect lots of hair. She’s a hacker stuck in a satellite which is like her tower. An escape attempt goes awry early in the book and as for Thorne you’ll just have to read it ;) ;)

Two Chicks- Will you be introducing us to any new hot male characters?

Yes I will in fact because that’s what I do lol. You get to meet the 4th hero whom we actually got to meet in book 1 but his part was so small you probably didn’t notice. He’s kinda like Daryl Dixon from The Walkind Dead!

Woooooooo hooooooo!!!!!

Two Chicks- Who has been your favorite character to write? You said Thorne last time has that changed?

Nope still Thorne he is so much fun! But I am working on Winter (book 4) and she’s crazy and I’m loving writing her character J
