Top Ten Tuesday (36)- My Ten Favorite Fairy Tale Retellings (so far)

Hi thanks for stopping by!!! And welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

August 4: Ten Fairytale Retellings I've Read/Want To Read (or you could do fairytales I want to be retold or fairytales I love)

This one super easy for me fairy tale retellings is one of my favorite genres! Its going to be hard to keep it to just 10 LOL

1. The Beau Rivage Series by Sarah Cross. She takes them all and puts them in one place! Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Beauty and The Beast, Bluebeard, 12 Dancing Princesses, The Little Mermaid, and more! The publisher who published the first 2, EgmontUSA closed but I'm really hoping the rest of the series gets picked up by someone else.
2. The Tales of Beauty and Madness series by Lili St. Crow. Each book features a different retelling the first is Snow White, book 2 is Cinderella, and book 3 is Little Red Riding Hood all set in a supernatural world with magic, vampires, and supernatural mafia. Love this series!
3. The Wrath & The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh. There's a few in here but it's mostly A Thousand and One Nights and Bluebeard.
4. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I don't think these need explaining by now we've all fallen in love with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, and we're impatiently waiting for Winter!
5. Stitching Snow. A sci-fi version of Snow White complete with space travel and robots! I love this one!
6. Mechanica by Betsy Cornwell. It's a steampunk Cinderella retelling and the herione is badass!
7. A Court of Thorns And Roses. By Sarah J. Maas. Another Beauty and the Beast-ish retelling.
8. Winterspell by Claire Legrand. It's a Nutcracker retelling and I am obsessed with this book! It's dark and sexy and magical!
9. Crown of Ice by Vicki L. Weavil. A beautiful Snow Queen retelling!
10. The Artisans by Julie Reece. Beauty and The Beast done Southern Gothic style.

So this is my list. What about you? What were the last books you received or bought?

And come back next week for my Top Ten Authors I've Read The Most Books From!

Blog Tour- TEAR YOU APART by Sarah Cross an Exclusive Short Story and a Giveaway!

Hey y'all! I'm super excited to kick off the TEAR YOU APART blog tour! I adore Sarah's Beau Rivage books and we have a super special tour for you! Sarah wrote a short story that takes place before TEAR YOU APART begins it's about the Twelve Dancing Princesses. So check it out and make sure to stick around for the giveaway!

Haven't heard of TEAR YOU APART? Check it out!

Title: TEAR YOU APART
Author: Sarah Cross
Pub. Date: January 27, 2015
Publisher: EgmontUSA
Pages: 384
Formats: Hardcover, eBook

An edgy fairy tale retelling of "Snow White" set in the world of Kill Me Softly for fans of Once Upon a Time and Grimm.

Faced with a possible loophole to her "Snow White" curse, Viv goes underground, literally, to find the prince who's fated to rescue her. But is life safe in the Underworld worth the price of sacrficing the love that might kill her?

POP CULTURE CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF TWISTING FAIRY TALES: ABC's Once Upon a Time and NBC's Grimm continue to pull in high ratings. And with the anticipated Angelina Jolie Maleficent (2014), the film adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods (2014), and Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella (2015), Hollywood is infected with fairy tale fever.

CAMEOS FROM FAVORITE CHARACTERS: Viv, who first appeared in Kill Me Softly trailed by her brooding boy-toy Henley, takes center stage in this new Beau Rivage tale. Other familiar characters including Blue and Jewel are back to help her defy her destiny.

TEENS LOVE THIS FAIRY TALE WORLD: Kill Me Soflty was a 2013 YALSA Teens' Top 10. Readers have been clamoring for a sequel.

A FRESH TAKE ON THE FAMILIAR: Drawing on "Snow White," "The Twelve Dancing Princesses," and "Rumpelstiltskin," Tear You Apart is very conscious of the way these stories have pervaded pop culture, twisting known tropes into an exciting new story that can stand on its own.

About Sarah:
Sarah Cross is the author of the fairy tale novels Kill Me Softly and Tear You Apart (coming January 2015), the superhero novel Dull Boy, and the Wolverine comic "The Adamantium Diaries." She loves fairy tales, lowbrow art, secret identities and silence.

Top Ten Tuesday (5)-Top Ten Characters I Wish Would Get Their OWN Book

Hi and welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post! Looks like I'll be sticking with this one for a while since I enjoy this meme!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

November 11: Top Ten Characters You Wish Would Get Their OWN Book (minor or just maybe a semi main character you wish a book was from their POV)

This one I thought would be easy there's a ton of characters I love right? But when I got to thinking about it I'm not sure how many would be great in their own book but here's my 10.

1. Ari and Janco from THE STUDY and THE GLASS Books by Maria V. Snyder. Yeah, yeah I know there's 2 here but these two are a package deal and I love Janco but those two together are hilarious!

2. Kenji from Tahereh Mafi's SHATTER ME Series! Kenji was for me one of my favorite characters in the book! Yeah I loved Juliette and Warner (not Adam) but If I had to pick I would have said screw both Adam and Warner and ran off with Kenji!

3.Raffe from Joelle Charbonneau's THE TESTING Series. He's such an interesting character and even though he's only in the last 2 books I fell hard for this guy! I'd love to see a POV from him about his life since he didn't have to go through the Testing like Cia did.

4. Blake from Wendy Higgins' SWEET Trilogy. Doesn't everyone love Blake? This kid... the Duke of Envy's son would be so awesome to read about he leads a colorful life.

5. Nolan from Page Morgan's THE DISPOSSESSED Series. Yes, I know he has scenes from his POV (cough confessional scene cough) but I'd read a whole damned book just about him!

6. Jackal from Julie Kagawa's BLOOD OF EDEN Series. This so much!!! I freaking loved his character and would love to read about him when he was turned.

7. Red from A.G. Howard's SPLINTERED series. This chick is crazy times a thousand! I'd love to see what made her that way.

8. Kat from Gena Showalter's THE WHITE RABBIT CHRONICLES. I adore her and her relationships with Ali and the crew. It's be cool to see her POV since she's one of the non slayers in the group. Also some sexy times with Frosty would be cool too ;)

9. Felix from Sarah Cross's BEAU RIVAGE Series. Yes I know he's the bad guy but if you've read the book you can't help feel bad for this dude. I kinda (not kinda I really) love him. He can't help what he is, it's his curse.

10.Roar from Veronica Rossi's UNDER THE NEVER SKY Series. I know he has a novella but I need more! I'd read a whole series from his POV!

So this is my list. What about you? What would you re-read if you had the time?

And come back next week for theTop Ten Sequels I Can't Wait To Get
