TV Review- THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES On MTV

So last night the first 2 episodes of The Shannara Chronicles aired on MTV! I have been dying to see this show ever since I first heard that MTV was going to turn Terry Brooks book series into a TV show! And OMG IT was so freaking awesome!!! I was amazed at how beautifully MTV made this show and the Four Lands! Seeing the characters come to life made me giddy, I think people following my twitter feed yesterday might have rolled their eyes at how many times I said that Manu Bennett was the perfect Allanon! Seriously look at him he's the perfect druid!

But honestly I think the whole cast was perfect I had never heard of Poppy Drayton but she did a killer job as Amberle she's kick ass and she's beautiful too!

I've loved Austin Butler forever so seeing him as Wil the half human, half elf was super cool! I always loved his character!

Additionally, John Rhys-Davies and the rest of the cast, most of whom I haven't heard of till this show were fantastic and I can't wait to watch the rest of the season! This has definitely become one of my absolute favorite TV shows! I actually saved last night's episode on my DVD so I can watch it over and over again!

And as a special surprise if you can't wait for the next few episodes MTV has episode 3 and 4 available now on the site!

World Premiere First Look at the Heroes, Villains, and Distant Future Fantasy World of “The Shannara Chronicles” Unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 10, 2014) — MTV today announced that its forthcoming epic fantasy series “The Shannara Chronicles” will premiere in January 2016. The network made the announcement during the first-ever Comic-Con panel for the series, which is based on author Terry Brooks’ international best-selling novels. Production for “The Shannara Chronicles” wrapped last month in New Zealand.

Brooks, who serves as an executive producer, appeared on the panel along with the cast of “The Shannara Chronicles” in its first-ever public appearance – Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Austin Butler, Poppy Drayton and John Rhys-Davies – as well as series Executive Producers Al Gough and Miles Millar. The Q&A session was moderated by TV GuideMagazine Senior Writer, Damian Holbrook.

Fans can stop by MTV’s booth (#3729) on the convention center all weekend to pick up a special, limited edition of “The Elfstones of Shannara,” complete with a one-of-a-kind Comic-Con book jacket. Additionally, John Rhys-Davies, Manu Bennett and Austin Butler will be in the MTV booth on Friday, July 10^th from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. for signings and fan photos.

Al Gough (“Spider-Man 2,” “Smallville”) and Miles Millar (“Spider-Man 2,” “Smallville”) are executive producers and the show runners of “The Shannara Chronicles.”  Jon Favreau (“Iron Man” Franchise), Jonathan Liebesman (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”), Terry Brooks, Dan Farah and Gene Stein also serve as executive producers. Additionally, Jonathan Liebesman directed the first two episodes. MTV is producing with Sonar Entertainment.
