I am so excited to have Ryan Graudin here with a deleted scene from ALL THAT GLOWS! I loved this book about faeries in modern London! Make sure to enter the giveaway below for a copy of the book and an delicious custom tin of tea!

Haven't heard of ALL THAT GLOWS? Check it out!

Title: ALL THAT GLOWS
Author: Ryan Graudin
Publisher: Harper Teen
Pages: 480
Pub. Date: February 11, 2014
Emrys—a fiery, red-headed Fae—always embraced her life in the Highlands, far from the city’s draining technology, until she’s sent to London to rejoin the Faery Guard. But this isn’t any normal assignment—she’s sent to guard Prince Richard: Britain’s notorious, partying bad boy and soon-to-be King. The prince’s careless ways and royal blood make him the irresistible for the dark spirits that feed on mortals. Sweet, disheveled, and alive with adventure—Richard is one charge who will put Emrys’s magic and heart to the test.

When an ancient force begins preying on the monarchy, Emrys must hunt through the London’s magical underworld, facing down Banshees, Black Dogs and Green Women to find the one who threatens Richard’s life. In this chaos of dark magic, palace murders and paparazzi, Emrys finds herself facing an impossible choice. For despite all her powers, Emrys has discovered a force that burns brighter than magic: love.

Now on to the deleted scene!

ALL THAT GLOWS deleted scene:

This prologue was the very, very first thing I wrote of ALL THAT GLOWS! It was a snowy morning in January of 2010 and I was giving my students a standardized test. While they scratched away their answers I wrote this down in my tiny idea book that I carried around with me everywhere (see pics)! I ended up cutting this out pretty early in the drafts and it doesn’t really fit with the novel any more, but I still hold a special fondness for it.

Enjoy!

Prologue

We came from the earth—children of dirt, soil and dust. Our magic is much older than our flesh, which melts and waxes in whichever way we choose. It runs deeper than blood, fiber and bone. It’s a part of us, threaded into our souls in a vital seam. You cannot tear away the magic without damaging the spirit. We are one and the same.

Before the men arrived, with their sails and smoke, we were spirits, roaming the land as animals and essences. When their hulls plowed into the sand of east shore we lingered in the forest, watching their strange pale bodies as they struggled against the land. It wasn’t long before we mimicked their forms, becoming more perfect imitations of the creatures we glimpsed before us. Our beauty, our magic, terrified and intoxicated them. We grew giddy on their worship, drinking in their lust and awe. Our reign over man’s superstitions and dreams lasted for many sweet centuries. The world of men and Fae were one and the same. We lived and thrived side by side. The only difference was that they died.

Machines came like an illness. It was slow at first—creeping across the land like an elusive morning fog. We paid little attention to the consequences of the mortals’ metal and steam. Once the realization descended, it was too late.

The oldest among us fell sick first. Those whose memories reached back into time’s ancient secrets began to forget. Their magic faltered and they found they could no longer live as they always had.

Then came the lights and the raw burn of electricity. The air ached and throbbed with its current. We felt its corrosion in ourselves. They built tunnels under the earth, plowing their way through our underground kingdom.

But the young Fae, we were malleable. Our spirits bent to the changes the machines brought. Like everything else, our magic adapted. It was no longer our world, and our magic was weak, but we survived. We had to.

I am Emrys and this is my tale.

Thanks Ryan! That was awesome I love prologues!

Blog Tour- INTO THE STILL BLUE by Veronica Rossi and a Giveaway!!!

I am so excited to have my friend, Veronica Rossi with the love of my life Roar and he's talking about his favorite song! I freaking love this series so much and was sad to see it come to an end but it was a perfect ending! Make sure to enter the giveaway below for a copy of the book!

Haven't heard of INTO THE STILL BLUE? Check it out!

INTO THE STILL BLUE
Author: Veronica Rossi
Release Date: January 28, 2014
Pages: 400
Publisher: HarperTeen

The earth-shattering conclusion to Veronica Rossi's "masterpiece" Under the Never Sky trilogy and sequel to the New York Timesbestselling Through the Ever Night (Examiner.com).

Their love and their leadership have been tested. Now it's time for Perry and Aria to unite the Dwellers and the Outsiders in one last desperate attempt to bring balance to their world.

The race to the Still Blue has reached a stalemate. Aria and Perry are determined to find this last safe-haven from the Aether storms before Sable and Hess do-and they are just as determined to stay together.

Meanwhile, time is running out to rescue Cinder, who was abducted by Hess and Sable for his unique abilities. And when Roar returns to camp, he is so furious with Perry that he won't even look at him, and Perry begins to feel like they have already lost.

Out of options, Perry and Aria assemble a team to mount an impossible rescue mission-because Cinder isn't just the key to unlocking the Still Blue and their only hope for survival, he's also their friend. And in a dying world, the bonds between people are what matter most.

In this final book in her stunning Under the Never Sky trilogy, Veronica Rossi raises the stakes to their absolute limit and brings her epic love story to an unforgettable close.

Now on to the post!

My favorite song? Well, let's see. It would be one that Aria sings, of course. I'd sing with her too, if she wanted. We've done plenty of duets together, but let's face it. She's the real singer. So that's the first thing.

The second thing... It should be a song that embarrasses Perry because nothing in this world makes me happier. If he physically walks out of the room because he's embarrassed, then I would tattoo those lyrics onto my skin. Wait. We should make that first. It's more important than Aria singing, so move that up, okay?

What else? I like anything I can accompany on my guitar. And verses that rhyme are good--the more forced and clumsy the better. Terrible rhyming and over-singing is where I tend to shine. And it should have a big finish. None of that fade away business.
Yes. That all sounds good to me.

(smiles)

What do you think?

Thanks Roar! That was very helpful lol and go easy on Perry!

On to the reveal!

About the Book
Title: KNIGHT ASSASSIN
Author: Rima Jean
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Pub. Date: March 4, 2014
Pages: 216

Seventeen-year-old Zayn has special powers she cannot control—powers that others fear and covet. Powers that cause the Templar Knights to burn Zayn’s mother at the stake for witchcraft. When a mysterious stranger tempts Zayn to become the first female member of the heretical Assassins, the chance to seek her revenge lures her in. She trains to harness her supernatural strength and agility, and then enters the King of Jerusalem's court in disguise with the assignment to assassinate Guy de Molay, her mother’s condemner. But once there, she discovers Earic Goodwin, the childhood friend who still holds her heart, among the knights—and his ocean-blue eyes don’t miss a thing. Will vengeance be worth the life of the one love she has left?

Exclusive Excerpt!
Earic emerged from behind a rosebush, his eyes glistening at her. He looked misplaced, this broad-shouldered monk-warrior, wandering amid the blooms of an Eastern garden. Even at night, the reds and golds and pinks were vivid and breathtaking. “Is Marguerite well?” he asked immediately, his brow creased with concern.
Zayn frowned as he sat beside her on the bench. “She has been better.”
“Her injury—”
“It is healing well. It’s not her leg that ails her so much.” Zayn looked down into her lap. How would she tell him what Marguerite should be telling him herself? This whole situation was terribly uncomfortable. “Lady Melisende has forbidden her from keeping your company.”
He exhaled, looked down as well. “I thought she might.” Zayn tilted her head to look at his profile. His hair was freshly washed and still damp, dark at the roots and shorter than before. Gone was the baby-faced Fair Boy she remembered; the man beside her had a network of scars on his sun-baked face and neck. His palms were like cracked leather, and the scent of sandalwood mingled with the musk of a man. She was surprised to find that it did not repulse her. In fact, it did quite the opposite. She glanced away.
“She never did approve of our friendship,” he said with a sad smile. “I was not good enough for her daughter. And I don’t disagree—I am not good enough for Marguerite.”
“Oh, stop,” Zayn said impatiently. “Just because you were not born into the right family doesn’t mean you cannot be friends.”
Earic looked at Zayn. “I suppose. But Marguerite is something special.”
Her expression softened. “Yes. I agree.” She hesitated for a moment. “She wanted me to tell you that no matter what, your friendship will endure.”
His smile was like a bolt of lightning in the dark. “Of course it will. Just like ours has.”
Zayn focused straight ahead, her blood beginning to hum. “I don’t know what you mean.”
“Zayn.” His voice was hoarse with emotion, his hand gently brushing against hers. “I know it’s you. I knew it was you the moment I saw you.”
“Your enemy,” she heard herself say, turning to look at him.
His voice was barely a whisper. “God’s bones! What have you become?”
Emotion clogged her throat, made her voice rasp. “Forget you ever met me, Earic. You must forget. I must kill you otherwise.”
“You can try. You won’t succeed.” He moved his hand up her arm, sending sparks throughout her body. “I had intended to visit Monteferrand soon. I wanted…to find you.”
She shook her head, her breath coming quickly now. “Find me? Why? You are a Templar, have you forgotten? And I…I’m not the girl you remember, not even a shadow of her.”
“I follow no one’s law but my own.” His face was illuminated from within. “As for the girl from Rafaniya… She’s here, I can still see her.” He raised his hand to her mouth and touched her lips with his forefinger.
Her every nerve tingled in response, her brain woozy with realization. Was it possible that he had feelings for her? In the blink of an eye, her hand flashed out, seeking his throat. Before she could grasp him, he’d snagged her wrist in his powerful fist. Her other hand lashed out; he stopped it as well. Her body rose in fury, but he rose with her, twisting her forcefully against him. Locking her within his arms, he lowered his head. “I won’t touch you, Zayn, I swear it. Please, control your strength. I don’t want to hurt you.”
The roar abated; her strength retreated like a falling tide. She gasped and slumped against him. How was he so strong? She was surprised how far up she had to look to meet his gaze. “I don’t understand. How…?”
His lips were inches from hers. “Haven’t you realized it yet, Zayn? You and I…”
His breath mingled with hers, intoxicating her. “What?” she managed to whisper.
Rather than answer, he dipped his head just a fraction and touched her mouth with his. The spark his lips ignited was so very different from the one created by her power. A warmth spread throughout her body, turning her muscles to jelly. She felt completely, utterly human in Fair Boy’s arms, and it was too good to be true…
She pulled away abruptly, horrified. “I have to go. I can’t… You must forget about me, Earic. Or else you put your life in danger.” Before he could reply, she turned and hurried away, breathless with fear.

This is Book Two in the Sense Thieves trilogy.

Now on to the review!

PUSHED WAS AWESOME!!!!! I loved TOUCHED but PUSHED kicked it's ass royally! I was always a fan of the older brother Gabe in the first book and we get sooooooooooooo much Gabe in this it was made of all the happy feels!

What I loved about PUSHED was Corrine took this book and changed the setting to San Francisco which is in my neck of the woods so everywhere the characters went I was totally familiar with! I felt like I was with Remy on this part of her journey. I lived in her grandpa's house at the Presidio, walked on the beach in Pacifica, rode the ferry into Sausalito, and hiked into Muir Woods with the crew!

Remy's growth in this book was amazing and I loved the changes in her attitude. She's becoming a strong young woman and she has Asher there to help her as well as Gabe, and trust me peeps you don't want to miss the Gabe scenes!! Team Asher will switch sides.

Lets just say I was a hot mess reading a lot of this book and when I finished I begged Cory to let me read book 3 early and she let me beta read it! I was so stoked!!!! If you haven't read this series yet please do it will make you smile and cry (I lost my shit ugly cried in books 2 and 3 lol)!

I was going to pick an excerpt but Corrine happened to pick a few and one of them was one I had bookmarked because it's full of Gabe hotness so yay! Check it out!!!!

Gabe Blackwell never saw me coming.

In the tick of a hummingbird’s wings, I had launched myself at his back, taking him down in a tangle of arms and legs. Our bodies hit the blue mat in the middle of the Blackwells’ gym with a thud that shivered from my teeth to my backbone.

Gabe’s breath hissed out when Asher, leaning against a rack of weights, laughed at his older brother’s defeat at the hands of a gangly girl half his size. I took advantage of Gabe’s distraction to wrap an arm around his neck, putting the whole of my weight into pinning him. My height rivaled his, with me close to six feet and him just over, but he had a good sixty pounds of muscle on me. Unwilling to loosen my hold for even a second, I considered biting him in retribution for the thousand times he’d insulted me. And then I wondered if I might have given away my abnormal speed. I really hoped not.

“What is it you’re always yelling at me?” I pretended to think about it, enjoying my little victory over my boyfriend’s brother. With his sculpted features, Gabe never lacked for company, and he never let anyone forget it. I savored any opportunity I had to take his ego down a notch. “Oh right. I remember now. Never turn your back on the enemy, Protector.”

Gabe cursed and cut my amusement short when his muscles tightened and gathered under me. He might look twenty to my eighteen, but Gabe had lived more than a century, and his experience with our powers surpassed mine. Too late, I tried to strengthen my grip. The thought had scarcely occurred to me when I found my face planted in the mat with his knee bending my spine like a bow.

“I also told you to concentrate instead of getting cocky.” The cheer in Gabe’s proper British voice grated on my nerves. “Now, be a good little mortal, and say it.”

His humiliating version of saying “uncle,” he meant. Ten minutes ago I’d bet him that I could take him down in a fair fight, and he’d agreed with terms of his own if I lost.

“Come on, Healer. Say it. Tell me I’m the greatest Protector who ever lived.”

His knee pressed harder, as he settled in with more of his weight. Grunting, I tested my range of motion and felt an electric storm of agony gathering inside my body. Powerful energy, but not enough to turn the tables. Almost there, you smug jackass.

“All right.” Defeat colored my tone, and my body went limp. “You win. I’ll say it.”

I could picture the smirk on his carved, handsome face, and I used the anger to steel myself against the coming pain. In an explosion of movement, my body jerked backward, forcing his knee to dig in that little bit more I needed. A disk popped in my spine and slid sideways. The tempest exploded out of me, firing my pain into Gabe. Another pop and he collapsed with a thump next to me, his back now screwed up, too. Poetic justice. In the quiet that followed, I pressed my cheek into the cushioned mat and studied my nemesis, curled up in the fetal position next to me.

My voice came out weaker than I intended when I declared, “I am the greatest Protector who ever lived.”
