Top Ten Tuesday (85)- My Top Ten Sci-Fi Movies

Hi thanks for stopping by!!! And welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

November 15: Movie Freebie

I've been in a sci-fi movie mood lately so I'm going to share my top 10 favorite sci-fi movies

1. Armageddon. It doesn't matter how many times I see this one I still bawl my eyes out!

2. The Fifth Element. Ha yeah two Bruce Willis movies make my top 2! But this movie is fantastic!

3. Oblivion. I'm not the hugest Tom Cruise fan but I still love this movie!

4. The Guardians of The Galaxy. Gotta add my Marvel Movies!

5. Stargate. It's an oldie but a goodie!

6.  Back To The Future. Another oldie that I love.

7. Serenity. I am a huge Firefly fan and yeah the movie wasn't as good but it's still good enough that I own it and watch it every time it's on cable.

8. Star Trek. The 1st from the newer franchise is still my favorite. I do love all the old ones too even the TNG movies :)

9. Resident Evil. Although I love this whole movie franchise the 1st is still my favorite.

10. Equilibrium. Most of you have probably never heard of this one. Think of Lauren Oliver's Delirium but with lots more violence and more futuristic. If you can find this one watch it. I know Netflix just pulled it boo but i's available on iTunes & Amazon for $2.99.

So what about you? What are some of your favorite sci-fi movies? And check back next week for my Thanksgiving freebie!!

Jaime

3. Perfectly Posh . I loveeee these amazing pampering skincare products and am always checking for new deals. Also I'm an independent consultant.

Top Ten Tuesday (29)- Top Ten Books I'd Love To See As Movies/TV Shows

Hi thanks for stopping by!!! And welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

June 2: Top Ten Books I'd Love To See As Movies/TV Shows

I'll be honest here I think most YA books that have been turned into movies would have probably been better being TV shows. There's more room to tell the story and stay true to the source material. That's why most of this list will be TV shows instead of movies.

1. The Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead- Yes I know we had a movie for book 1 but it wasn't very good. Also I think it would have been better as a TV series.

2. The Infernal Devices Series by Cassie Clare- I love this series and it would be a perfect Penny Dreadful like TV series for YA fans.

3. The Study Series by Maria V. Snyder- With Fantasy taking over TV I think it's time that this could be made into an awesome TV show. Plus there's tons of material that it could be around for a long time!

4. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir- yes I know it's been optioned. I have my fingers crossed that it actually becomes a movie.

5. Claudia Gray's Firebird series- This would be an awesome TV series. I would love to see who they cast as Paul.

6. The Testing Series by Joelle Charbonneau- I'd love to see this be made into a movie trilogy. I think it would definitely hold it's own against The Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Maze Runner! With the right script and cast it could even be better!

7. The Wrath & The Dawn Series by Renee Ahdieh- This fairy tale retelling would be a hot TV show!

8. The Blood of Eden Series by Julie Kagawa- Julie's books would make an awesome dystopian vampire TV series!

9. Alienated series by Melissa Landers- We need more sc-fi alien shows on TV. I miss Roswell and Starcrossed was gone even before it got a real chance and I think this series would be perfect to fill it's spot.

10. The Artisans by Julie Reece- I would love, love, love to see this as a movie!

So this is my list. What about you? What books would you like to see turned into a TV show or movie?

And come back next week for my Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For the Rest of 2015!

Top Ten Tuesday (3)- Top Ten Books/Movies To Read Or Watch To Get In The Halloween Spirit

Hi and welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post! Looks like I'll be sticking with this one for a while since I enjoyed last week's post!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

October 28: Top Ten Books/Movies To Read Or Watch To Get In The Halloween Spirit OR Top Ten Characters Who I Would Totally Want To Be For Halloween

I chose movies!

1. It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. A classic and even now that I'm an adult I still love it.

2. Hocus Pocus. Love Bette and SJP as witches! This one is super fun!

3.The Nightmare Before Christmas. It may be a Christmas themed movie but I think it's perfect for Halloween.

4. Practical Magic. This is one of my all time favorite movies so I watch it whenever lol but I definitely make sure to watch it during the Halloween season.

5. The Monster Squad. This one is from 1987 so yeah it's old but if you haven't watch it do so. It's got all the monsters and some really classic lines :)

6. The Crow. Another one of my all time favorites! Brandon Lee will always have my heart.

7. From Dusk Till Dawn. The Original none of the sequels. I love this whole cast!

8. The Cabin in The Woods. Loved this one it's a perfect Whedon flick it's got the right amount of gore and it's hilarious!

9. Zombieland. Because sometimes you need to watch Woody search for a twinkie lol and kill a ton of zombies.

10. Beetlejuice. Does this one need an explanation? Michael Keaton at his best!

So this is my list. What about you? What are some of your favorite Halloween movies?

And come back next week for Top Ten Books I Want To Reread (or if you don't reread...would reread in an ideal world)

Guest Post- Elizabeth Norris Shares Summer Movie Picks

You know Elizabeth Norris as the author of Unraveling and this year’s Unbreakable. You may not know she also loves movies! After sharing 10 of her top summer movie picks with I am a Reader, Not a Writer and Tynga’s Reviews, she stops by here to share her movie “Honorable Mentions.”

Honorable Mention:

World War Z (I loved the book!)

Mean Girls

John Tucker Must Die

Kickass 2

Make sure to stop by Reading After Midnight (June 4th), I’d So Rather Be Reading (June 10th),Bewitched Bookworms (June 11th), Midnight Book Girl (June 12th), Good Books and Good Wine (June 14th) and others to come for Liz’s top summer picks for books and TV shows --- and to read excerpts from her novels.

About Unraveling and Unbreakable

Reminiscent of Before I Fall, Elizabeth Norris's Unraveling blends realistic coming-of-age issues and heart-stopping romance with something just a little bit more. In this case, a gripping science fiction world.

Unraveling's heroine, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner, is used to having a lot of responsibility. She balances working as a lifeguard in San Diego with an intense academic schedule. Janelle's mother is bipolar, and her dad is a workaholic FBI agent, which means Janelle also has to look out for her younger brother.
And that was before she died...and is brought back to life by Ben Michaels, a mysterious, alluring loner from her high school. The more Janelle tries to figure him out, the more she starts to believe he's connected to a case her father is working on. The one where people are dying of radiation poisoning and the body count is rising. The one that involves a strange clock that seems to be counting down to the earth's destruction. If Janelle wants to stop the clock and save the world, she has twenty-four days to uncover Ben's secrets--and keep from falling in love with him.

From debut author Elizabeth Norris, comes this shattering novel of one girl's fight to save herself, her world, and the boy she never saw coming.

Unbreakable, the sequel to Elizabeth Norris’s Unraveling, blends science fiction, mystery, and romance into a thrilling story YA readers won’t be able to put down.
It’s been four months since Janelle Tenner stopped the earth’s destruction with the help of Ben, the boy who resurrected her after she died. Ben is gone now—disappeared through a portal to his home world.
Even though Ben broke her heart, Janelle refuses to believe it when Interverse Agent Taylor Barclay tells her Ben is suspected of running a human-trafficking ring across several universes. She vows to uncover the true culprit and rescue the people who have been sold into slavery on alternate earths—not to mention find Ben and prove his innocence.

In addition to Ben, Barclay, and Janelle, Unbreakable brings back fan favorite characters Elijah and Cecily in this action-packed thriller.
