When you can’t trust yourself, who can you believe?

Everything about Anna’s life is a secret. Her father works for the Branch at the helm of its latest project: monitoring and administering treatments to the four genetically altered boys in the lab below their farmhouse. There’s Nick, Cas, Trev . . . and Sam, who’s stolen Anna’s heart. When the Branch decides it’s time to take the boys, Sam stages an escape, killing the agents sent to retrieve them.

Anna is torn between following Sam or staying behind in the safety of her everyday life. But her father pushes her to flee, making Sam promise to keep her away from the Branch, at all costs. There’s just one problem. Sam and the boys don’t remember anything before living in the lab—not even their true identities.

Now on the run, Anna soon discovers that she and Sam are connected in more ways than either of them expected. And if they’re both going to survive, they must piece together the clues of their past before the Branch catches up to them and steals it all away.

Ok y’all I just ate this book up! It was fantastic full of suspense, twists and turns, romance, and hawt boys! And not just two peeps; there were four!!!! And they are each unique and I fell for each of them in their own way.

This story was so good! It was the perfect blend of sci-fi applied in the real world. And who knows? The things that happen to the characters in the books could actually be happening somewhere here in the world! I think that’s what I liked the most about it. I mean I love me a good sci-fi/fantasy where there’s aliens and stuff that could never happen but, this just felt so real!

I felt like I was on the journey that Anna and the boys took. I felt Anna’s pain when she learns some wicked truths and, also I fell in love with Sam; as she fell deeper for him! Of course Sam is all Anna’s lol because another boy in the book fully captured my heart. Nick. The bad boy of the group was by far my favorite with his dark hair, blue eyes, bad attitude, and love of organic shampoo! He’s guarded and an asshat but he has his reasons and I can’t wait to find out more about him in book 2! Which coincidentally I need like right now!!!!!

I had a ton of passages marked in this one but I chose one between Anna and one of the other boys; Cas, because he cracked my ass up!

“Well..” Cas propped himself in a fork of branches and looked down. “Are you pumping me for gossip? Because that’s what it feels like.”

I warmed. “What? No!”

“Come on, Anna, you’re in love with him, aren't you?”

I could barely make out his facial features in the darkness, but I didn't have to in order to hear the sly smirk in his voice.

If Cas knew I liked Sam, did Sam know? Of course ge did. I wasn’t exactly secretive about the whole thing. But hearing it out loud changed everything. I suddenly felt nauseous.

I put my face in my hands. “Oh my God.”
The tree branches rustled. Cas dropped to the ground next to me and patted my head. “It’s all right. Go ahead and admit you’re in love with me too. Let’s get everything off our chests while we’re at it.”

I swatted him but he dodged away. “You’re not making me feel better.”

“Who said I was trying to make you feel better? Fact: Sam’s got swagger. Fact: I’m straight. Fact: Even though I’m straight, I sorta love the dude. So I can’t say I blame you.”
