Sixteen-year-old Evening Spiker lives an affluent life in San Francisco with her mother, Emma-Rose, a successful geneticist and owner of Spiker Biotech. Sure, Evening misses her father who died mysteriously, but she’s never really questioned it. Much like how she’s never stopped to think how off it is that she’s never been sick. That is, until she’s struck by a car and is exposed to extensive injuries. Injuries that seem to be healing faster than physically possible. While recuperating in Spiker Biotech’s lush facilities, she meets Solo Plissken, a very attractive, if off-putting boy her age who spent his life at Spiker Biotech. Like Evening, he’s never questioned anything... until now. Solo drops hints to Evening that something isn’t right, and Emma-Rose may be behind it. Evening puts this out of her mind and begins her summer internship project: To simulate the creation of the perfect boy. With the help of Solo, Evening uncovers secrets so big they could change the world completely.

Oh dear I loved this book!!!!!! Let me count the ways. One, it was told in multiple POV’s (which I love). Two, it was set in a city near and dear to my heart (San Francisco and the surrounding areas).Three, the main female character was just pure awesome! She was a rich girl that I didn’t hate. She had spunk and didn’t fall for a guy just because he was hot. She was picky, really picky kind of like me. Three, the main male character had the coolest name ever!!!! Solo Plissken (hello Star Wars/Escape From New York mash-up! Thanks Rachel for the Star Wars reminder lol) oh and he’s this kind of surfer dude with piercing blue eyes and a I don’t give a eff attitude that I adored! Four, they mention the bands Rancid and the Pixies(which happens to be a couple favorites of mine). Five, it’s sci-fi but not far off into space or the future sci-fi; its stuff that could be (and probably is) happening in the world today!

Ok so yeah after that ramble what else do I have to tell you? Eve gets to create a boy! And OMG that boy is perfect! Actually too perfect for my tastes but I’m sure some of you will fall for the super model, crowd stopping, panty dropping looks; with the dark hair, perfectly sculpted body, and blue eyes… yeah ok went off into dreamland there for a minute lol. But anyways this story rocks! There’s mystery and danger and a scientist who looks more like he should be in a punk band than in a lab, and a bunch of other stuff I could mention but I won’t because I’d start to ramble and that would not be cool. And I may spoil something. So just trust me when I say go buy this book when it comes out! I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2 Adam & Eve!

I chose a passage which was really hard because I had about 20 bookmarked but, I kept going back to the sleep drool one because it’s from Solo and it’s so damned cute and funny. So here you go!

Eve looks about like I probably looked twenty minutes ago. Like she can only open one eye. And there’s possible drool in the corner of her mouth.

Why do I find that kind of hot? Seriously. Sleep drool.

She sits up. She’s wearing a too-small t-shirt. Her hair is all on side of her head.

Her eyes widen. She barely notices me. Aislin staggers over to the bed and just sort of melts into her arms. It’s a long hug. I stand in the doorway, staring at my feet.

I’m thinking it’s time for me to sneak away quietly when Eve looks at me over Aislin’s shoulder, frowns, and jerks her head a little, indicating that I should come in.

I do. Feeling like I’m entering the Holy of Holies.

Oh my god. I’ve never been in a girl’s room before. It smells different in here. It smells good.
Still, the realization is disheartening somehow. All of this is new to me. Including the acknowledgement that it’s all new to me.

Man I love that guy! There were so many other scenes I could have shared but I hope that tempts you into getting this book! Because trust me people you will not regret it!

Make sure you pre-order it and add it to your goodreads lists! Oh and check out the trailer it rocks!!! :)

  5. Oh my gosh why oh why did I give this book away!?! I knew from the description I wanted it desperately. After your review I want it so desperately I'd sacrifice my meager 2 hours of sleep a night just to read it. :(

I love the "panty dropping looks" line! LOL! I'm totally team Solo Plissken of course in my mind he's a total mash-up of both characters and their looks, with piercing blue eyes. :)

Oh and the sleep drool being sexy. :) This book rocks! Totally can't wait to read it!

  7. Love your review! I don't think I'll fall over heels for the perfect Adam though, I need some flaws in my characters! I love multiple POVs too! It makes the story more interesting.
