Cover Reveals- Blood Type, Blood Match and Blood Cure by K.A. Linde

We are very excited to bring you these brand new covers from a new series from USA Today bestseller K.A. Linde coming next year!

A startling new vision of paranormal romance: When a human ventures into the world of vampires—a decadent milieu of blood-bonds and betrayal—she discovers that not all is what it seems. For Reyna Carpenter, giving up her body isn’t a choice. It’s survival. In a civilization laid waste by poverty and desperation, Reyna accepts a high-paying position with the wealthy and hungry vampire elite. Her new job is as the live-in blood escort for the intimidating, demanding, and devilishly handsome Beckham Anderson. He’s everything she expected from a vampire, except for one thing—he won’t feed off her. Reyna soon discovers that behind Beckham’s brooding, wicked façade lies a unique and complex man. And that, in a dark and divided world, she is more valuable than she ever would have believed. For with each passing night, Reyna can’t shake the sensation that it’s Beckham who’s afraid of her. Note: Reyna and Beckham’s story continues in Blood Match. ADD TO GOODREADS

Blog Tour- THE CONSORT by K.A. Linde An Excerpt

After the loss of a friend and false imprisonment in an Eleysian dungeon, Cyrene has no interest in destiny. Her heart was shattered, friends scattered, and her home is nothing but a pretty illusion. Even her magic won’t cooperate. When all seems lost, she turns to the one person she never thought that she would trust:

Prince Kael.

His darkness mirrors a growing force lurking within her. A struggle she never imagined threatens to consume her. And as friends and foes begin to show their true colors, she starts questioning whether anyone is who they seem. Even herself.

Time was a wily beast.

It stole. It destroyed. It healed.

Constant and immovable.

And each day brought a new morning.

Time was dependable. And only time could move the world forward.

Time had slipped away from Cyrene. It was a thief in the night, scrubbing away the hours and leaving her disoriented.

At first, all she could feel was the soft bed beneath her body. For a moment, she thought of Dean. Lying against his chest, waking in the morning with his arms wrapped tightly around her, knowing that another night had passed. Another night closer to their wedding.

Then, another second ticked by, and that memory stabbed her in the chest. There would never be another morning like that. There would never be another dawn with Dean. There would never be another moment in Eleysia. For she was bound to Byern.
And always would be.

Her eyes flew open, and she scrambled across the bed in horror. Her hand touched her mouthand Kael Dremylons eyes slowly opened with a lazy smile on his pretty face.

“Morning,” he said, biting back a yawn.

“What in the Creator’s name are you doing in my bed?” she all but shrieked.

“Sleeping.”

“How dare you come into my quarters and share my bed with me! Do you think I have no honor? Do you think I have forgotten what you tried to do to me?”

She had woken up curled around Kael! Her leg wrapped around his. Her arm flung across his bare chest. His arms cradling her, as if he even knew what comfort was.
Now, he was staring at her as if she had gone completely insane. How could he possibly think this was okay?

“Do you know where we are?” Kael asked.

He sat up and leaned on one elbow. The sheet slipped off his body, revealing every rippling muscle. She snapped her gaze back up to his face.

“I don’t see how that matters.”

“We are on a Byern warship. This is the only room on the ship with quarters this nice. Otherwise, you can sleep below decks with the crew. Is that what you want?”

She shook her head. “Surely, there must be somewhere else. I can’t be expected to sleep here. What will everyone think?”

He laughed a bitter, rough laugh. “Now, you are concerned about this?”

“If I am to be carted back to Byern, then I should have the luxuries of an Affiliate.”

He held his hand out. “And you are afforded those luxuries.”

Cyrene opened her mouth to argue, but he cut her off.

“This is a war vessel, not a pleasure ship. We are not on procession, like the last time you had the full attention of Byern royalty in your bed,” he said viciously. “If you do not sleep with me, in my rooms, then you sleep below decks. With the crew.”

Cyrene glowered at him. Of course, he would use every advantage that he had while he had her here. And, even though she had never slept with King Edric, it still prickled her to think that everyone, including Kael, believed that she had. But, if it irritated him to consider it, then she wouldn’t contradict him.

“So, you expect me to sleep next to you the entire time I am trapped here?”

“Yes,” he said simply. “Now, if you want to roll back over and lie on me again, I won’t object.”

Top Ten Tuesday (88)- Ten Underrated/Hidden Gem Books I've Read In The Past Year Or So

Hi thanks for stopping by!!! And welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

January 17:  Ten Underrated/Hidden Gem Books I've Read In The Past Year Or So

Lately I've been reading some more Indie Authors and I've found some amazing books so they will definitely be on this list. I've also been reading more adult fantasy so I will add those too.

I'll link to their goodreads pages so you can see their books. And if you want to buy them click on the book covers to be taken to Amazon!

1.  THE AIR AWAKENS Series by Elise Kova. You all know I love a good fantasy series and I binge read this series in 5 days! It was freaking awesome! And the best part is the eBook box set  (that's all 5 books!) is only $9.99 on Amazon and free for Kindle Unlimited Users!

2. IF THE SHOE FITS by Shirley McCoy. Yes I know that cover is horrible but don't let that fool you! This is an awesome adult re-imagining of the Cinderella story except of focuses more on the step-sisters and their love lives which gets pretty steamy! Loved this one!

3. THE BIRD AND THE SWORD by Amy Harmon. Another indie fantasy that was fantastic! It's a stand alone but I fell in love with this world and characters that I'd really like to read more!

4. THE AFFILIATE by K.A. Linde. I wouldn't have picked this one up but my friend Damaris from Good Choice Reading kept saying how awesome it was. So when it went on a .99 kindle sale I grabbed it, devoured it, then was dying to get book 2! It's like The Selection Books but with magic and better IMO.

5. THE WINTER KING by C.L. Wilson. Another amazing adult high fantasy! I can't wait for the rest of the series!

6.  A DANCE OF DRAGONS Series by Kaitlyn Davis. Another indie high fantasy series! I'm reading this one right now and loving it! And the best part is you can get the starter bundle for free! But the complete eBook set (3 books plus the 4 novellas) is only $9.99 so I got that. I love her writing so much after I finish this I plan to read her other series

7. THE NINE KINGDOMS Series by Lynn Kurland. I recently read the first 3 books and they were awesome! I'm not sure why they were marketed for the adult audience as they clearly have the crossover appeal like Maria V. Snyder's series.

8. UNKNOWN by Wendy Higgins. This is Wendy's first foray into New Adult and I'm so glad she didn't go the contemporary route. Instead we get a sci-fi story with a kick ass chick and romantic tension so thick you could cut it with a knife! I loved every page!

9. A PROMISE OF FIRE by Amanda Bouchet. I freaking loved this adult fantasy! It's a great story and very sexy!

10. THE ARCHITECT OF SONG by A.G. Howard. I know A.G. is a pretty big author but this is her first self published work and I personally think it's a favorite out of all her books! It's a historical Gothic New Adult and in typical A.G. Howard style the writing is beautiful and magical and romantic!

So what about you? What are some underrayed/hidden gems that you have read? And check back next week for my Ten.... there's no topic yet so I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Hugs,
Jaime

Top Ten Tuesday (86)- Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read For The First Time In 2016

Hi thanks for stopping by!!! And welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Broke And The Bookish for creating this weekly meme!

Here's this week's topic.

I picked December 6's topic on accident lol but may as well keep it: Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read For The First Time In 2016

I'll link to their goodreads pages so you can see their books.

1.  Amanda Bouchet. She writes adult high fantasy and it's freaking awesome!

2. Elise Kova. She's an indie author but don't let that stop you. She wrote the Air Awakens series which I binge read in 5 days! She writes a lot like my favorite author Maria V. Snyder. Her fantasy is amazing and she has a new steampunk fantasy that I just read and loved!

3. K.A. Linde. Yes another indie author but her Affiliate series blew me away! It's like The Selection (but better) and with magic!

4. S.J. Kincaid. Yup I'd never read her before The Diabolic and now I must read all her other books!

5. Kerri Maniscalco. She's a debut author but is well deserving to be on this list. Her book Stalking Jack the Ripper was awesome and I usually don't enjoy straight historical books.

6.  Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon. Their Doon series was another I had always wanted to read but hadn't until this year and I'm so happy I did! It was soooo good!

7. Amy Harmon. And another indie but her book The Bird And The Sword is everything I look for in a great high fantasy!

8. C.L. Wilson. She writes adult romantic fantasy and wow it is awesome and smexy! I loved the first book in her Weathermages of Mystral series (book 2 needs to come soon!) and had to buy her Tarien Soul books right after!

9. Lisa Maxwell. Unhooked was the first book by Lisa I read and I loved it! I need to read the rest of her books now!

10. Sarah Fine. Impostor Queen was the first book of Sarah's I read. Sadly I didn't like the sequel/companion novel but Sarah has a ton more books I want to read.

So what about you? Who are some new to you authors you read? And I probably won't be doing top tens lists for the rest of December since we have our Top 10 event at the end of the month and a couple of the topics are similar!!

Hugs,
Jaime

My Revew: 4 stars!

Damn KA sure knows how to leave you with a killer ending! I honestly liked this better than The Affiliate and if it hadn't ended the way us did it would have received 5 stars. I loved the travel and adventure in this one and getting to meet Dean. He's the prince I'd choose since I always felt the romance between Edric and Cyrene felt too forced and now I know why!. I love KA's worldbuilding and I can't wait for the next book!

Staggering down the hallway, she didn’t even look up when she heard her name.

 “Hmm?” she asked.
“Cyrene, there you are!” Someone grabbed her shoulders, and she tipped her head to look up into the most beautiful face. She smiled and felt a renewed burst of energy flow through her.

 “Hey,” she whispered.

“Hey,” he said, threading his fingers through hers. A shiver ran up her back. He glanced around the empty hallway and then tugged her away from the main corridors. She turned a corner, and he pressed her back into a darkened alcove. His mouth was only inches from hers.

Her exhaustion was wearing off from the excitement of being with him.

“I was really worried about you,” he breathed.

“You don’t have to worry about me,” she said, trapped in his gaze. She teetered on her tiptoes and nearly brushed their lips together. Her heart was racing ahead of her. This felt almost better than reaching for her magic. Definitely better than moving one drop of water at a time all day.

“You’re wrong.” Then, he softly dropped his mouth down on hers. His lips were tender and slow as they caressed hers. “I will always worry for your safety.”

Cyrene’s cheeks heated, and she sighed, leaning back against the hard stone of the alcove. “I didn’t mean to worry you.”

His hands pushed up through her hair and tilted her head back up to look at him. She closed her eyes and sighed. She was so tired, and just the feel of his fingers was lulling her to sleep.

 “That feels good.”

His mouth found hers, and despite her exhaustion, she pushed back against his lips with more force. She refused to let the fact that she was tired get in the way of her time with him.

“Whoa,” he said, pulling back from her. He rested his forehead against hers, and she could tell he was breathing heavily. “As much as I want this, and I do, I want to make sure you’re okay. This didn’t scare you away?”

She shook her head. “This, most certainly, does not scare me.” Then, she kissed him again for good measure.

He laughed. “Good. Because I’ve been wanting to kiss you since I first met you.”

 “You have not!” she insisted.

“Are you kidding? A gorgeous, feisty woman who wasn’t afraid to put me in my place the first time she met me? I mostly certainly have.”
