Hey y'all! I'm thrilled to be participating in the blog tour for THE WINNER'S CRIME by Marie Rutkoski! We each get to do our own posts for this one. Oh and stick around for the giveaway!

Haven't heard of  IGNITE Check it out!

Title: THE WINNER'S CRIME
Author: Marie Rutkoski
Pub. Date: March 3, 2015
Publisher: Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR)
Pages: 416
Format: Hardcover, eBook, and audiobook

Book two of the dazzling Winner's Trilogy is a fight to the death as Kestrel risks betrayal of country for love.

The engagement of Lady Kestrel to Valoria’s crown prince means one celebration after another. But to Kestrel it means living in a cage of her own making. As the wedding approaches, she aches to tell Arin the truth about her engagement…if she could only trust him. Yet can she even trust herself? For—unknown to Arin—Kestrel is becoming a skilled practitioner of deceit: an anonymous spy passing information to Herran, and close to uncovering a shocking secret.

As Arin enlists dangerous allies in the struggle to keep his country’s freedom, he can’t fight the suspicion that Kestrel knows more than she shows. In the end, it might not be a dagger in the dark that cuts him open, but the truth. And when that happens, Kestrel and Arin learn just how much their crimes will cost them.

Now on to the post!

So the question being asked is... The ‘Winner’s Curse’ is an economics term that means you’ve gotten what you wanted – but at too high a price.  What would you pay too much for?

I've thought long and hard about this one and the answer I came to is nothing. I'm a pretty frugal spender and if I can't afford it I just won't buy it. Maybe when I was younger I might have but as an adult I've learned you can't always get what you want. And lol yes I did just quote a Rolling Stones song!

  3. Yikes. This is a rough question. I think I would pay too much for a job in my field. I went to college and I have the fancy degree but not the fancy job that goes with it. There are not too many openings around her for my profession and I can't stand the thought of leaving my family, so . . . that's where I'm at.

Oh, or a job in publishing. But here. I'll visit NY for work, but again, I don't like the idea of moving-moving.

  6. I am so excited to read winners crime! Then the wait for the 3rd book. ACKS! I would pay anything to ensure a healthy happy family, but in terms of what I've actually done...probably the Veronica Mars Kickstarter is a good example. Was it worth it to ME to pay that much to make sure movie got made and it had a good budget? Absolutely...but to others? Maybe not, and for sure once it hit their amount, the movie was for sure being made, but I just kept adding to my kickstarter rewards. :P My husband may not have loved it as much looking at our bank statements, but he knew it made me incredibly happy, so probably was a bit of his own winners curse there. :P I feel that way about some books too (winners crime included!) but have never been able to actually ACT on it. :P

  9. I would pay too much for health and safety of myself or lived ones because if you don't have that, nothing else matters. Thanks for the chance!;)

  10. I don't know if you can pay too much for anything if it is super important to you, but I guess I'd answer with my health. Thanks for the chance! :)

  13. I think we all pay way to much for our health, insurance, food, gas, bills. I think they over charge for everything now. It's getting hard to be able to save any kind of money. I still love to buy books whenever I can though. I'd have to say that's my weakness. I also love these books and can't wait until I can own my very own copies. Thank you!

  15. Oooh, I love this post so much, I'm literally drawing hearts around and eagerly awaiting this book. For me, it'd probably be books like crazy or maybe nail polish, since I'm a hoarder. lol

  16. I'd probably pay too much for peace and quiet and then be annoyed that nobody was talking to me. Double-edged sword. Thanks

  18. Occasionally, I'd say, I pay too much for love (for family, friends, etc.) Also to feel like someone's listening. Thanks for the giveaway!

  19. Definitely books, like if I could have stacks of books all over my house and maybe a pair if really cozy slippers that would be nirvana.

  20. Travel! I would love to spend money on as many experiences as I could fit in. And then while I was there, I would spend too much money on books and other random stuff. As it stands now, I just spend too much money on books ;) Thanks for the giveaway!

  21. Books, I guess. I look at all the books I own and think of the total amount of money I spent… it's worth it though!

  24. I'd pay wayyy too much for food (I LOVE food), and to go to outer space. xD

  25. I would pay too much to make sure that my daughter was always happy with her life. That her hard work pay off for her and that she never has to struggle but still fights for her happiness <3

  26. I'd pay anything to keep my family healthy. But if it could be something fun than it would have to be heels. Any color, just as long as they have a hue heel and are super cute then I'm a happy person!

  27. I'd pay too much for a good education

  28. I'd pay too much for a fabulous gourmet meal :)

  29. There are two different ways I interpret this question. At least, I have two different ways I want to answer. :P

If it would be possible to trade something or pay for it, I would give anything and everything to have my Daddy back. At least back long enough to have gotten to meet his granddaughter (my niece) and have her know him. She's missing out on knowing one of the most amazing men who ever lived.

Money-wise for something trivial for my book love, I would totally spend an absurd amount of money to have a pass for YALLFest to be able to jump to the front of all of the signing lines and also have access to the green room. ;)

Money-wise for something trivial for my Disney love, I would want unlimited money and planes to travel to and from any Disney parks, at any time.

    I don't want much, do I? Hahahah!!!

  30. I would have to go with Immortality :)
