Hey, everyone. I’m Shea Berkley, author of an epic Fantasy series, The Keepers of Life.

Book 1: The Marked Son

Book 2: The Fallen Prince

Book 3: The Rising King

I say epic because I write the three M words: magic, mayhem and monsters, the trifecta of awesomeness. (That’s my opinion, of course, but you can trust me. Pinky swear!) Honestly, who doesn’t like fantasy stories where good is so nice and bad is so naughty? We get to write about hot guys who have a driving need to rescue girls just like us, and girls who can slay dragons while wearing leather. That is too cool. (Again, just my opinion, but it is cool. Really.)

A big thank you to Jaime for allowing me to crash her blog today. I hope you all are following our 12 days of kickass Christmas posts and you’ve found a reason to collect new stories by all the awesome writers Entangled Teen has to offer. We’re a rowdy, mouthy bunch, but we’re loads of fun. So give us a try. You won’t be disappointed.

And now let me introduce you to Rebekah Purdy!

About Rebekah:
Rebekah was born and raised in Michigan (just look for the mitten-shaped state on the map). She’s lived there most of her life other than the few years she spent in the U.S. Army.  At which time she got a chance to experience MO, KS, SC, and CA.
She works full time for the court system and in her free time she writes YA stories. Pretty much any genre within the YA realm is game for her, but her favorites are fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, thrillers, light sci-fi, and some time travel.
She also has a big family–she like to considers them the modern day Brady Bunch. When her hubby and her met and got married, he had 3 children from a previous marriage, she had 2 and  have 1 together. It’s a lot of fun though.
And she can’t forget her other family members–yep, they’ve got some pets: 4 dogs, 3 cats,  and 1 turtle. Everyone in the family has one…she won’t bore you all with their names (unless you really want to know). Okay, you talked her into it! Jack, Pearl, Grr…(yes that’s her dog’s name), Callie, Shadow, Mooshoo, Grouchy, and Sorbert. Other than writing some of her other hobbies include: reading (mostly YA of course), singing, swimming, football, soccer, running, camping, sledding, church, hanging with her kids, and traveling.
She belong to a fabulous writing group called YA Fiction Fantatics (YAFF) and you guessed it they all write YA!
REPPED by Jennifer Mishler and Frances Black of Literary Counsel.
And that’s her in a big ‘ol nutshell.

LEGEND OF ME Blurb

Sixteen-year-old Brielle has grown up hearing tales of a beast that kills humans, leaving behind only a scattering of bones and limbs. Or so the village elders say. She thinks it’s just their way of keeping children in line, though it doesn’t explain her grisly premonitions of blood, claws, and severed heads.

When Lord Kenrick, Knight of the Crowhurst Order, shows up asking questions about the legendary monster and Brielle finds a mangled body in the woods, she begins to wonder if the grim stories are true. Her attraction to the handsome knight grows as she spends time with him searching for clues to the creature’s existence, and she becomes even more determined to help him discover the beast’s location.

But as her seventeenth birthday approaches, her nightmares worsen. If Brielle doesn’t figure out the connection between Kenrick, the monster, and visions of a ghostly woman in the woods soon, more people could die. Including those closest to her…

Exclusive Excerpt!

Two dead rabbits sailed through the air and fell at my feet. A shriek caught on my lips.

Rhyne chuckled. “Told you I’d find you.” He leaned his bow against a nearby tree, and hung his line of game on a low branch.

“Rhyne Butcher, you are a pain in the arse!” I gripped hold of his tunic, giving him a good shake.

At a massive crash, we leapt apart, and stared into the thick trees. My heart catapulted into my throat, as he reached for his bow. A buck and doe scampered out of the woods and stopped to get a drink at the creek.

Rhyne glanced at me, and I burst out laughing. “What’d you think it was? The beast?”
I teased.

His lips twitched at the corners and he tossed his bow aside while pulling me into the creek. “I’ll show you beast.”

With a giggle, I splashed him, getting his breeches and white tunic wet. Grabbing the bottom of my drenched skirt, I bounded through the woods, darting between trees. I glanced over my shoulder as I rushed onto the main road, screeching as I saw Rhyne closing in.

When I turned back around I gasped, nearly running into a black stallion. I tried to jump back. With a scream, I raised my arms to block myself from the impact but the rider pulled the reins, stopping the horse mere inches from me.

“Are you all right?” a masculine voice asked. The knight pulled his helmet from his head.

My breath caught in my throat as he slid from his mount. Shaggy black hair fell across his forehead; his blue eyes were the color of summer skies. He stood tall, his smile blinding.

“I—I’m sorry.” I curtsied. “I’m afraid, I didn’t see you coming.”

“No need to fret. I’m only glad I was able to pull up in time.”

His soft tone sent a quivering across my skin that had nothing to do with me being dripping wet.

Rhyne came up behind me and rested his palm on my shoulder.

The knight glanced at his hand, then back at me. “My men and I are looking for the village of Dark Pines. Could you tell me if we’re close?”

Rhyne cleared his throat. “It’s just around the next bend.”

The knight’s gaze lingered on me as he stepped forward. “I’m sorry, where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself.” His grin widened. “My name is Lord Kenrick of Crowhurst.”

In one smooth motion, he set his helmet on his saddle, then took my hand, raising it to his lips.

My skin blazed beneath his mouth, my heart thudded like the beating of a thousand hooves in unison. I stood, frozen in place, staring at him. Then my vision blurred as images flipped through my mind.

“Brielle, it’s been too long since I’ve seen you.” Lord Kenrick rushed across the stone bridge, moonlight at his back.

I laughed. “It’s only been three nights.”

“Three nights too many.” He scooped me in his arms, his fingers tangled in my hair as he drew me closer.

Beneath me, my legs trembled and I shook my head to clear the mental picture. My eyes searched his and I noticed the dazed look on his face as well and I wondered if he’d seen the same thing as me. Shivers danced across my neck. Was this some kind of premonition, a look at what was to come? Deep down, in the pit of my stomach, I knew we were meant to find each other. But this thought unsettled me.

My name is Her Royal Highness Princess Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian…ok, it is a bit long isn’t it? Well call me Princess Sophie, it will be easier.

But before to be a Princess, I am a writer. I’ve written 40 books since I was 13 years old.

I live in Paris, the city of Glamour and fashion, near to the Champs Elysées and Avenue Saint Honoré, and yes, Louboutin, Galliano and Karl Lagerfeld are my neighbors!

I have 15 writers in my family, can you believe that? It’s crazy.

I written several series, Indiana Teller, Spring Moon, is one of them. Inspired by Kipling. What would do Mowgli in a human city or university after have been raised by wolves and panthers?

This is the problem of Indiana. He has been raised by beautiful, handsome and terrible werewolves and because he cannot change, he is rejected by the pack. He wants to embrace his humanity, but somebody tries to kill him and he doesn’t know why. Plus, he falls in love with a human, Katerina, which is totally forbidden since he, Indiana, son of a human girl and a werewolf, cannot change. Love a human can bring to death. Very clumsy but clever, Indiana will have to fight to survive and to choose between his double nature…

I'm introducing Cecily White today! Take a look at her novel Prophecy Girl!

About Cecily:
Cecily Cornelius-White, Psy.D. makes a habit of avoiding boredom whenever possible. She has enjoyed careers as a hand model, GAP salesgirl, movie projectionist, psychotherapist, yoga instructor, university professor, artist, dance choreographer, eating disorders specialist, psych diagnostician, book reviewer and copy editor. None of which are as much fun as writing novels.

She currently lives in Springfield, MO with two FABULOUS kids, and a schizophrenic yet well-mannered cat. She can swear in Klingon, take down an alien aggressor using only her mind (or a pair of chopsticks), and kill giant spiders without getting schmutz on her shirt.

When not singing to herself, she spends time creating new worlds and thinking up ways to make this one better…

Where you can find her:

About Prophecy Girl:
Amelie Bennett. . . . Ending the world, one prophecy at a time.

I was born to slay Crossworld demons.
Big black flappy ones, little green squirmy ones. Unfortunately, the only thing getting slain these days is my social life. With my high school under attack, combat classes intensifying, and Academy instructors dropping right and left, I can barely get my homework done, let alone score a bondmate before prom.
Then he shows up.
Jackson Smith-Hailey. Unspeakably hot, hopelessly unattainable, and dangerous in all the right ways. Sure, he’s my trainer. And okay, maybe he hates me. Doesn’t mean I’ll ignore the wicked Guardian chemistry between us. It’s crazy! Every time I’m with him, my powers explode. Awesome, right?
Wrong.
Now my teachers think I’m the murderous Graymason destined to bring down our whole race of angelbloods. Everyone in New Orleans is hunting me. The people I trusted want me dead. Jack and I have five days to solve the murders, prevent a vampire uprising, and thwart the pesky prophecy foretelling his death by my hand. Shouldn’t be too difficult.

Getting it done without falling in love. . . that might take a miracle.

Exclusive Excerpt/Deleted Scene!

Naughty Is the New Fabulous...

I folded my arms across my chest, trying not to convey how boneheaded I thought the whole idea was. “So, what’s the plan? Weapons? Explosives? Horde of flesh-eating zombies? How do we go in?”

For the briefest second, Jack’s eyes warmed. Then his game face slid back into place.

“There’s no plan, Ami. We don’t go in. I do.”

I frowned. “When I said I absolve you, that wasn’t meant as a suicide suggestion. For the moment, we’re still bonded.”

“Only partially.”

“Great, then I can partially kick your ass.” I prodded him with one toe.

“Dude, you’re not going in without me. We’ll wait until Lisa and Katie are safe, then I’ll take out Alec. I can totally do it,” I insisted. “You saw what happened last night.”

“I didn’t, actually,” he said, “but Bud mentioned you were badass.”

“Bud said ‘badass’?” I asked, doubtful.

“I’m paraphrasing. What he actually said was you make him want to start drinking again.”

Outside my window, the sky had blended to a mélange of taffy and cotton candy. It made the pink of my walls practically vibrate with color. With an almost imperceptible sigh, Jack lowered himself beside me. His skin felt warm through the thin fabric of his t-shirt, and I tried not to shiver. Already, threads of bond-light swirled between us.

“I screwed this up, didn’t I?” he asked softly. “Us, I mean.”

I stayed silent. Was there still an us? That seemed to be the million dollar question…not that he’d helped clarify things.

Hey I'm Karri Thompson and I'm hijacking Two Chicks on Books today to introduce you to Danielle Ellison a fellow 2014 Entangled Teen Debut Author. Her book Salt comes out in January and I have a deleted scene to share with you today! Make sure to look for the highlighted word in the post and enter it into the rafflecopter for a chance at some awesome prizes!

About Danielle:
Danielle Ellison is from a small town in West Virginia. She spent her childhood pretending to fly and talking to imaginary friends. When she grew up, she finally flew away (in an airplane) and started traveling the world. She hasn’t stopped yet, but someday she may decide to settle in one place. Her real life friends would definitely like that; they would probably also like if she stopped talking to her characters out loud.

SALT comes out in August 2013, and then it's sequel. In October 2014, FOLLOW ME THROUGH DARKNESS (book one of the BOUNDLESS Trilogy) comes out. She's got a busy few years!

Blurb: (Cover Reveal Tomorrow!!!)
Penelope is a witch, part of a secret society protecting humans from demon attacks. But when she was a child, a demon killed her parents—and stole her magic. Since then, she’s been pretending to be something she’s not, using her sister’s magic to hide her own loss, to prevent being sent away.

When she’s finally given the chance to join the elite demon-hunting force, Penelope thinks that will finally change. With her sister’s help, she can squeeze through the tests and get access to the information she needs to find "her" demon. To take back what was stolen.

Then she meets Carter. He’s cute, smart, and she can borrow his magic, too. He knows her secret—but he also has one of his own.

Suddenly, Penelope’s impossible quest becomes far more complicated. Because Carter’s not telling her everything, and it’s starting to seem like the demons have their own agenda…and they’re far too interested in her.

Exclusive Deleted Scene!

So very excited to be sharing a smart-ass post from SALT. This is one of the few deleted scenes I have from the book—and it had to go because I changed the way the story was set up, but the characters are the same and I really love this moment. Hope you do too! Should keep you nice and warm in the chilly weather.

I fall to the ground again. I’m never going to this maneuver that we’re supposed to learn by tomorrow. What is wrong with my brain? Get it together, Penelope.

“You’re close, but not quite,” a voice calls. I look out the observation window and Carter is standing there, complete with brown leather jacket and smirk. Awesome.

“I forgot; you know everything.”

“I don’t have to help you. I’m sure there’s a lost episode of Buffy where she shows you how to do it in a step-by-step method,” he says back. I’m never going to live that down.

I roll my eyes. “I don’t need your help.”

Carter puts his hands up. “I’m just trying to save you some time.”

“How do you know this anyway?”

“Your trainer is my cousin, so I’ve been her guinea pig before.”

Of course he has. I look back at the window and he’s still waiting for me to change my mind. Like he somehow knew I would. “You’ve spent all this time stalking me here so I might as well give you a purpose.”

My cheeks are flushed before he’s anywhere near me, and I hear the soft swish as he tosses his jacket to the ground.

“It’s like you were, but the back leg is wrong,” he says. Carter puts one hand on my calf, the other under my knee, and slides my foot back several inches. Electricity sparks from his touch, and my stomach rumbles. I am losing all control of my life if he can’t even touch my leg. I don’t even know him beyond our three encounters. When did I become that girl?

“You want to be under the move to give it more force before you add the magic. Now curve your shoulders forward slightly.” I curve my back until my neck disappears.

Carter releases a soft chuckle that I can’t help but smile at—even though I know the sound is because of me. I think I like it more because of that. “Not so much, master. You’re not auditioning to be Igor. Like this,” he says and tilts his shoulders until there’s the slightest curve to his back.

I mimic his pose, and he touches me quickly to fix my stance. I can still feel his hand there after it’s gone and my stomach is seriously sick, filled with rocks instead of butterflies. I take a breath. It doesn’t really help.

Note to self: that never works.

 “This is awkward,” I say.

“Looks good from where I’m standing.” Heat rushes to my face and I just pray that I don’t fall over. Forget impending death from demons. My cause of death will be hot boys. Or a hot boy. Wow, stop it.

“I think I’ve got it from here,” I say.

He chuckles again. “We’ve only just started, Poodle. Your follow through on that counter is off.”

Poodle? “Do I get to punch you now?” I say, putting my hands up toward him. He can go away because—Carter takes my hand in his and I swear if he never game them back to me I’d be okay. I’d be totally okay walking around without hands if it meant I got to feel his more. I watch him, his face all scrunched up as he positions my fingers. Why is he touching me?

Carter looks up at me, a sparkle in his eye as his thumb trails over my knuckles before he drops my hands. “Just making sure you don’t break anything.”

I know how to throw a punch, but in this moment, I barely know my name.

“Okay.” The word comes out on a breath, soft and unsubstantial.

He pulls my right arm up, until my fist is just below my eye and shifts my left fist up to my chin. “Tuck your elbows in closer.”

“Why?”

“So you don’t look like you’re doing the chicken dance.” He smiles at his own joke. I want to forget all about my fists and feet, my punches and posture, and just lean into him, into his light, into his magic. Hell, I’d even do the chicken dance if it would make him really laugh.

Carter laughs and walks behind me. “Legs apart.” He bends down and moves my right foot back a little more. His hand trails up my leg and taps on my knee. “Knees bent.” If I bend them too far I’ll fall over. I’m already weak. Kinda dizzy. His hand presses against the small of my back. “Back curved.” His body is curled around mine and he drifts his arms against mine, touching my elbows. “Elbows in.” I let him guide my arms to the right place. Please do not stop touching me. My arm drifts up so my right fist is directly under my eye. “Arms up.”

My whole body is on fire, stomach floating, magic racing through me. He’s still pressed against me and it’s only going to be a second before I completely fall apart and my bones melt and I sprawl out on the ground like a pile of mush.

“Can you remember that?” he asks. His breath is warm on my neck and everything inside of me screams out. If I say “no” will he keep touching me? Work voice!

“I think I’ve got it,” I say. It’s just above a whisper and all cracked when it comes out. His hand lingers on my arm for another second then all I feel is the chill of his body no longer near mine. Water on fire, the steam of his touch lingers.

He steps in front of me, points to one of the dummies and turns the simulated illusion on. “Now go kill that fake demon.”
