In the aftermath of a forbidden moment that rocked Sydney to her core, she finds herself struggling to draw the line between her Alchemist teachings and what her heart is urging her to do. Then she meets alluring, rebellious Marcus Finch--a former Alchemist who escaped against all odds, and is now on the run. Marcus wants to teach Sydney the secrets he claims the Alchemists are hiding from her. But as he pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her, Sydney finds that breaking free is harder than she thought. There is an old and mysterious magic rooted deeply within her. And as she searches for an evil magic user targeting powerful young witches, she realizes that her only hope is to embrace her magical blood--or else she might be next.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, the Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles, and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive—this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone’s out for blood.

OMG y’all this book was amazeballs, awesomesauce, fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve been having a hard time writing my review for this so I decided to wait to let my emotions calm down a bit otherwise this would have been a complete ramble-fest.

It seems to me like Richelle has a thing with her third books being completely awesome and heart breaking as well as leaving us with a moment at the end where we want to strangle her. Because let’s face it if she doesn’t leave us hanging either in giddy happiness or total misery it’s like she hasn’t done her job in torturing us. Well Mrs. Mead job well done you have me hanging by a thread waiting for The Fiery Heart!

Ok so onto the book I know it’s out and most of you have read it by now but I’m not going to be spoilery just in case there are some of you that haven’t. All I’m going to say is that I love Adrian even more than I thought possible he is simply amazing in this one! And there’s a t-shirt painting scene that keeps sticking in my head lol. Also for you Sydney haters I hope you’re finally seeing her for the kick ass heroine she really is! Like I’ve seen her since the VA books! And thank goodness I think we may be steering away from the strigoi for good there’s new villains and I love that. And for you people who were worried about Marcus Finch? Don’t. I mean he’s hot and funny but he can’t hold a candle to Adrian; that being said though he did add to the story, I liked him!

Aw crud see my review turned into a ramble anyways lol so I will leave you with a passage a part of the t-shirt scene ;)

“Not the pirate,” I warned. He found a small purple shirt and began painting on it in silver. “Purple?”

“It’s your color,” he insisted. A thrill ran through me at his words. Adrian could see auras, the light that surrounded all people and was tied into their personalities. He’d told me that mine was yellow, a color most intellectuals had. But he’d also said I had flares of purple, which indicated a passionate and spiritual nature. Those weren’t qualities I usually thought I possessed…but sometimes, I wished I did.

I watched, enthralled, as he painted a large silver heart with flames edging one side. The whole design was Celtic in style. It was beautiful.

“Where did you get that from?” I asked in awe. I’d seen a lot of his work but never anything like this.

His eyes were on his heart, completely caught up in his work. “Just something kicking around in my head. Reminds me of you. Fiery and sweet, all at the same time. A flame in the dark, lighting my way.” His voice…his words…I recognized one of his spirit-driven moments. It should’ve unnerved me, but there was something sensual about the way he spoke, something the made my breath catch. A flame in the dark.

Sybella arrives at the convent’s doorstep half mad with grief and despair. Those that serve Death are only too happy to offer her refuge—but at a price. Naturally skilled in both the arts of death and seduction, the convent views Sybella as one of their most dangerous weapons.

But those assassin’s skills are little comfort when the convent returns her to a life that nearly drove her mad. Her father’s rage and brutality are terrifying, and her brother’s love is equally monstrous. And while Sybella is a weapon of justice wrought by the god of Death himself, He must give her a reason to live. When she discovers an unexpected ally imprisoned in the dungeons, will a daughter of Death find something other than vengeance to live for?

This heart-pounding sequel to Grave Mercy serves betrayal, treachery, and danger in equal measure, bringing readers back to fifteenth century Brittany and will keep them on the edge of their seats.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!!!!! I laughed, I cringed, and I cried (ugly and happy tears) oh did I cry!

Ok had to get that out there hehehehe. No but really I was so in love with this book! I loved Grave Mercy I absolutely fell for Duval and I was sure there was no way that Robin was going to top my love for Grave Mercy with Sybella’s story in Dark Triumph but hell if she didn’t!
I was always intrigued with Sybella in Grave Mercy I know most people didn’t like her or, trust her but I always did. I knew there was something about her and why she acted crazy. Her story was absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking! What that poor girl had to go through was just nuts! No wonder why she seemed a little off balance in Grave Mercy. Oh and her unexpected ally as stated in the synopsis above? I will not say who it is but it’s someone we all know and love from the first book and as much as I love Duval; he sure came close to taking that spot as #1 in my heart. He didn’t but he came really close! ;)

Oh and for those fans of Grave Mercy don’t fret all of the characters from the first story are in this one as well and some new ones that you will absolutely adore!

I had a hard time picking just one passage in this story I has 12 bookmarked lol and I wanted to share without posting a certain someone’s name. So certain someone's a name is be redacted in this passage…..

---nods in agreement, then grins. “I’ve never met a lady who enjoys her work as much as I enjoy mine.”

“My work?”

“Killing. Assassin-ing.”

“What are you implying?”

He looks puzzled at the anger in my voice. “That you are very good at what you do. It was a compliment, nothing more.”

Of course, he would mean it as a compliment. “Just how many other lady assassins have you met?”

“Other than you? Only Ismae. And she seemed to approach her duty with more earnestness than true joy, whereas you come alive with a knife in your hand.”
Hotly uncomfortable with his assessment, I fall silent.

Do I enjoy killing? Is it the act itself that brings joy? Or do I embrace the sense of higher purpose it gives me?

Or is it that I simply enjoy doing that at which I excel, and there are few enough skills that I possess?

Go buy this book y’all you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!1

When Nadia’s family moves to Captive’s Sound, she instantly realizes there’s more to it than meets the eye. Descended from witches, Nadia senses a dark and powerful magic at work in her new town. Mateo has lived in Captive’s Sound his entire life, trying to dodge the local legend that his family is cursed - and that curse will cause him to believe he’s seeing the future … until it drives him mad. When the strange dreams Mateo has been having of rescuing a beautiful girl—Nadia—from a car accident come true, he knows he’s doomed.

Despite the forces pulling them apart, Nadia and Mateo must work together to break the chains of his family’s terrible curse, and to prevent a disaster that threatens the lives of everyone around them. Shimmering with magic and mystery, New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray’s new novel is sure to draw fans of the Hex Hall and Caster Chronicles series, and fans of the hit CW TV show The Secret Circle.

I love Claudia Gray’s books! I read her Evernight series before I started blogging and I still suggest them to readers today! Lucas and Balthazar will always have a soft spot in my heart. But I have to say move aside boys because there’s a new Claudia Gray character and he’s moving in! His name is Mateo and he’s a beautiful (I mean super-hot), tortured, cursed, soul. And he is so sweet and loving he takes my breath away!

Ok enough about Mateo let’s talk about this story! I was so thrilled when I heard that Claudia was going to write a witch story! I mean she has already taken on vampires, wraiths, and werewolves on the Titanic and they all rocked so I knew this was going to be amazeballs too! And yep peeps IT SO WAS!!!!!

Claudia has written another amazing story with vibrant characters in a beautiful setting with a backstory that just screams “I need a novella!” and her MC Nadia is as kick ass as her other heroines. She’s so brave that she’d rather be hurt herself than others around her and I admire that about her! I also fell in love with Verlaine (yep girl crush big time) the reluctant BFF her parts in the story had me cracking up and smiling and I can’t wait to find out more about her history in book 2! Oh speaking of I can’t wait for book 2 lol!

Ok so to leave with a parting passage I normally go with the swoon but since I loved Verlaine so much I just had to share this one!

“It’s not going to happen for us,” Nadia said, trying to push aside the swell of anger within her. “So forget it. Never mind. Don’t be freaked.”

Verlaine had evidently gone from beging excited at the possibility to relieved that it was unlikely. “Ok, I get it, you were just—giving me the ‘in case of emergency’ speech. Like on a plane. They always tell you where the life jackets are, and show you how to calmly put on the oxygen masks—like if those masks fell out of the plane ceiling you wouldn’t all be screaming bloody murder.”

Nadia had to laugh. “Yeah, pretty much.” She pointed with her whole hand, flat like a blade, the way stewardesses did. “That way is the emergency exit.”

“Got it. Okay, so—show me what you got.”

Hey y’all! I’m so happy to be taking part in the Goddess Inheritance Blog Tour hosted by Kismet Book Tours! When I received the tour details I was very interested in participating because for one thing this is a tribute to Aimee’s books and secondly this time it is us bloggers who create the whole post as a tribute to the Goddess Test series! So here’s a little information about the third book in the series and also make sure to enter the giveaway below!

Love or life.
Henry or their child.
The end of her family or the end of the world.
Kate must choose.

During nine months of captivity, Kate Winters has survived a jealous goddess, a vengeful Titan and a pregnancy she never asked for. Now the Queen of the Gods wants her unborn child, and Kate can’t stop her–until Cronus offers a deal.In exchange for her loyalty and devotion, the King of the Titans will spare humanity and let Kate keep her child. Yet even if Kate agrees, he’ll destroy Henry, her mother and the rest of the council. And if she refuses, Cronus will tear the world apart until every last god and mortal is dead. With the fate of everyone she loves resting on her shoulders, Kate must do the impossible: find a way to defeat the most powerful being in existence, even if it costs her everything.

Even if it costs her eternity.

For our tour posts this was the topic suggestions we got.

Tour Post:  What's Divine About The Goddess Test series?
As you know, your tour post will be a post by you about “What’s Divine About The Goddess Test series” where you share your favorite moments, quotes, characters or whatever you wish to share about this fantastic series!

So that got me to thinking what did I really love about this series?

Well everything!!!

I loved the setting (I’m a huge Greek Mythology nerd) I loved the modern retelling of the Persephone story; and there have been a few of those within the past few years but, this one has become one of my favorites! But I think most of all I love the characters! Not all of them mind you I don’t think I warmed up to Henry until half way through book 2 but, I loved Kate, James, Ava, Diana, Xander, hell even Walter, as well as a few more! What I loved about these people was that even though some of them were gods they felt like people I could relate to; people who could be in my life and so I felt myself feeling for them, hurting for them, and loving them!

To close this up….

I mentioned James above and, I wanted to say that out of all the characters in the books he is and always will be my favorite. So I chose a passage between him and Kate because I loved his honesty and his affection for Kate. And well because I love him J

To my immense satisfaction, James winced.” Believe what you want, but your deal with Henry is clear. He has you for six months, no more. You can do whatever you want during the summer, and he has no say in it.”

“That doesn’t give me the right to break his damn heart.” I stalked off toward camp. “And it doesn’t give you the right to try to make me. I can’t believe you, James. Out of all the nasty things to do, playing me like that--“

“I wasn’t playing anyone.” He hurried to catch up, and I refused to look at him. “I’m not doing this for fun, Kate. You’re the one who invited me to go to Greece, and I said yes because I like spending time with you. And because I wanted to help you see what you’d be missing if you decided to come back. You can’t yell at me for that—I behaved. No matter how badly I wanted to kiss you, I never did.”
