So we are so ridiculously
excited for today’s post! We have both read
Unraveling and absolutely freaking loved the book! Liz Norris was super
sweet and asked us to be on the tour and of course we said yes! Oh and also we
get to give away a signed copy of Unraveling and bookmarks!
Now on to our post. A couple
weeks ago Jaime went on vacation to San Diego (coincidentally that’s where the
book takes place) so she thought she’d take pictures of the places in the book
and have Liz add captions to them! Liz loved the idea so here’s what we’ve come
up with! Also there’s a slideshow with more photos at the bottom!
Janelle is a lifeguard, and
in the opening scene of Unraveling,
she's finished up her last shift of the summer. Making Janelle a lifeguard
wasn't necessarily a conscious decision. Like Janelle, I was a swimmer and a
lifeguard, and when I started thinking about her, it just fit that she would be
those things too.
Torrey Pines State Reserve
is the beach Janelle always goes to--and where she works as a lifeguard. This
was my favorite beach in San Diego because it was always the least crowded.
Ben works at Kon-Tiki
Motorcycles in Pacific Beach. He likes working on cars and motorcycles--it's
something that he's really good at, and I used to walk by Kon-Tiki a lot when I
was in Pacific Beach. I always loved the name.
Sunset Cliffs is where Ben
takes Janelle on her first date. It's one of the most romantic places
(especially during sunset) that I've ever been.
In my mind, this is the
view Janelle and Ben have on their date. Ben takes her here because Janelle's
always loved the ocean and the beach and because it's a place where they can be
together--just them--and really talk and learn more about each other.
This is why Unraveling is set in San Diego. Other than the fact
that I lived there and can picture it really well, it's such a beautiful place
with so many interesting places to go. I see pictures like this and wish I
could teleport there and feel the ocean breeze.
Awesome right? San Diego is beautiful and the perfect
setting for Unraveling! So no onto the giveaway just fill out the rafflecopter

ReplyDeleteA countdown clock?! This book sounds pretty good, its plot is different than most of the stuff out there, not an easy feat in the world of paranormal YA books.
