From Goodreads. Being connected to Daemon Black sucks… Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarre connection. I’ve sworn him off even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But against all common sense, I’m falling for him. Hard. Our relationship issues aren’t out biggest problem… The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And when a new boy shows up a school with a secret of his own, things get complicated fast. I need to choose between my own instincts and Daemon’s. But then everything changes… I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. Daemon’s never going to stop searching until gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me? No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies.
Onyx was longer than the first but so worth it. It
was hottter, sexier, more action packed, absolutely gut wrenching, and more
tear filled than Obsidian! There’s
really not much I can say without spoiling the story but I will say holy shit I
fell more in love with Daemon I didn’t think it would be possible but he is now
my favorite character in any of Jen’s books! I loved Katy too I mean she is one
kick ass chick and I still love that she’s a blogger. Y’all might remember that
from my gushing review of Obsidian
;)
There’s a few new characters introduced and one happens to be a very
hot boy with some pretty intense secrets. There are some pretty intense
surprises in this book and let me tell you some will leave you reeling and
cursing at Jennifer especially after the ending (hello holy shit moment)! You
will be dying to read Opal and this
wait is going to be a killer!
I picked a passage that I think is pretty safe to share and it’s one
of my favorites!
Around six in the
evening. I felt that now-oh-so-familiar tingle on the back of my neck right
before Daemon knocked. A ball of confusing feelings unfurled inside me as I
hurried to the door.
The first thing I
noticed was the large box beside him, and then the scent of roasted turkey and
yams.
“Hey,” he said,
holding a stack of covered plates. “Happy Thanksgiving.”
I blinked slowly.
“Happy Thanksgiving.”
“You going to
invite me in?” He held up the plates, wiggling them. “I come bearing gifts in
the form of food.”
I stepped aside.
Still grinning,
he came in and waved his free hand. The box lifted off the porch and trailed
behind him like a dog. It landed just inside the foyer. As I shut the door, I
caught sight of Ash and Andrew climbing into their car. Neither of them looked over.
A lump formed in
my throat as I turned to Daemon.
“I brought a
little of everything,” He headed toward the kitchen. “There’s turkey, yams,
cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green-bean casserole, some kind of apple
crisp thing and pumpkin—Kitten? Are you coming?”
That’s it no more you’ll just have to wait to see what happens but
just let me say it’s one of the best parts of the book ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm a total fangirl when it comes to JLA too. I couldn't agree more about this book. I couldn't believe how much Katy ...um...resisted! And the story went places I wasn't expecting. LOVE it!
